Weekend Fun

We've had a fun but not too busy weekend! Saturday morning we started out with swim lessons! Ryan loves swim lessons but lately he really just wants to do his own thing. We have decided to suspend his swim lessons until later in the fall or winter. We are at the pool so much already we figured we can practice what we have learned so far.
Saturday night we had our anniversary date night at The Melting Pot. Yummmy! We love The Melting Pot and have been there 3 out of our last 4 anniversaries. My in-laws, Ryan's grandpa and grandma came over to play and watch him while we went on our date. I know he had a blast and they were sufficiently wore out by the end of the night, ha. That boy doesn't ever slow down.

After dinner we went to visit our friend Ellie and Chris who just had their 2nd little baby. Elliot Christopher was born on Friday night weighing 6lbs 2oz. Just a little smaller than Ryan was. You think you remember how little your babies were when they were born but when you hold a newborn you just can't remember them being so little and fragile. I was delighted to hold Elliot and he was just precious and smelled sooo good! Ellie and Chris were just beaming and so excited about their new little bundle of joy. (I would have taken a pic but my camera battery died.)
This morning we headed to church and were surprised when we got there that there was no nursery today because they were short handed. We regularly volunteer and we firmly believe that if you use the service (in this case child care) that you should volunteer your services and help out. We took Ryan to the service and we lasted about two songs before we headed to the cry room. It's a relatively small room and I felt bad taking up room in there when others were feeding small babies. It worked ok but we only heard bits and pieces of the sermon. You realize how much you appreciate the child care workers when you don't have them. I'm so thankful for the people who love on kids and serve the Lord!!!
I enjoyed getting out this afternoon and running some errands by myself. I had to shop for baby showers gifts and birthday gifts. I also ran by Gymboree since they are having their big semi-annual sale right now and got Ryan a few things for next summer. Never to early to plan ahead! We are looking forward to a good week! What are your plans for the upcoming week?
