Monkey'n Around

This morning Ryan and I took a walk up to the pond in our neighborhood. Ryan loves to watch the ducks and geese swim around. He was not content just chillin in the wagon, he had to get out and walk around.
We headed to the library for story time. We haven't done a story time in a while and Ryan enjoys the songs and stories. Ryan is just one busy little boy. He didn't want to sit in my lap or sit still for that matter. He wanted to walk around and check out the books the storyteller was reading.
We met our friends Anissa and Elizabeth for lunch. Ryan loved getting to see Elizabeth again. He was good for the most part but towards the end he was getting tired and restless. We came home and he took a 3 hour nap!!! Oh that makes this momma so happy!

How was your Tuesday?

Fourteen Months

So I'm a little late on this post but better late than never right!?!
I decided to continue Ryan's monthly updates because he is changing and doing so much right now. And also just for my personal memories!

Ryan - You are FOURTEEN months old!

What have you been up to this month???

You weigh 23 lbs and are 32 inches tall.

You still wear size 3 diapers and size 12-18 month clothes.

You don't like many veggies or fruits except peaches. You have peaches just about every day, ha! You LOVE chicken, applesauce, yogurt, grilled cheese, pasta(ziti), cheerios, and of course goldfish. I'm hoping you are just going through a phase and will like more foods soon.

You are enjoying reading books more and will sit for more than just one minute and read a book.

You are such a flirt. You will be all fussy out in public, until you catch the attention of someone and then you just turn on the charm!!! Ha!! Oh boy, you are gonna be a heartbreaker!!

You wave hi and bye-bye and point at things you want. You absolutely LOVE playing peek a boo.

You have started walking!!!! You take 10 or steps then fall and go at it again! You still like to crawl alot, you are so fast!

You are starting to say more words...well at least more sounds that sound like words, ha! You say dada, momma and ball.

You have figured out how to open doors now. Oh my, we are in trouble!!!

You give you stuffed animals "love" by holding them up next to your face. You now give momma love and will hug me and lay your head on my shoulder. Just precious and melts my heart every time!

I love watching you learn new things every day. You are so bright and so smart. You are the biggest blessing in our lives and we love you so very much!!! We are so blessed to call you ours!

These boots were made for WALKING!

Ryan is officially WALKING!!!

This morning we went to church then after nap we went to the pool. Ryan loves the pool and had a blast playing. I'm sad the pool will be closing next weekend after Labor Day.

We were playing when we got home from the pool and Ryan decided to show off his new walking skills. He is doing really good and I am so proud of him!

Playdate at the Park

Ryan is feeling so much better today. He was running around and playing just like his normal self. He didn't have any drainage last night and woke up happy this morning. The nurses warned us yesterday that Ryan's balance would be off the remainder of the day. Despite that, he actually took four steps last night. I was amazed and so excited.

Today we met our friends Tiffany and Presley at the park for a playdate. Presley is 20 months old and so sweet. She loves the playground and is one busy little girl.

Ryan enjoyed playing with Presley.
He crawled around and loved playing on the playground.

He loved climbing. He wasn't completely fearless though, he would climb a little higher and get scared but I assured him momma was right there and he calmed. He is getting so big I can hardly believe it.
The weather was absolutely beautiful today. After being inside so much lately because of the summer heat it was so nice to get out and enjoy the park. After the park we headed to my fav, Chick-fil-A for lunch. Yum!
It was a great day! We are looking forward to having a fun, relaxing weekend!
Ryan's 14 month post is coming soon!

Down the Tubes

Ryan had tubes put in his ears today. We had to be at the hospital at 8 this morning and we just let him go in his pj's. The hardest part was he couldn't have anything to eat or drink after midnight last night. I woke him up right before we headed out the door so he wouldn't even have a chance to think about breakfast.

This is Ryan sitting with dadda before they called us back. He was so good with the nurses and he definitely turned on his charm.

They took him back at 9:10 and his doctor came in at 9:20 to tell us he did great and that we could see him in recovery in a few minutes. Matt barely had enough time to refill his coffee before they called us back. It's such a fast and easy procedure. The paperwork honestly takes longer than the whole procedure.

He was pretty upset and crying when we first saw him. He was sucking his thumb and totally guzzled his juice down. We had to stay in recovery about 30 min. so that they could monitor him. He calmed down once we were in the car on the way home.
We came home and ate some yogurt then Ryan went down for a nap.

It was a very easy procedure. I'm just hoping and praying that we begin to see changes in him over the next few weeks. And hopefully no more awful ear infections.

Tuesday

The weather this week has been absolutely beautiful! Fall is just around the corner and I can't wait to get out my jeans and t-shirts! And it's almost football time in TENNESSEE!!!! I know we don't stand a chance at having a good season but I gotta root for my volunteers!

We hit up the park this afternoon since it was so beautiful outside! I thought Ryan might play a little on the playground but since he's not walking independently he didn't like it too much. He did though LOVE the swings. He always has the best time swinging!

Ryan is getting two more teeth in addition to his molars coming in. The two new ones are on either side of his two bottom teeth. He must be teething because he's been a little fussy and clingy the last couple days and drooling a ton. Poor baby!

I am loving this cooler weather and hope it sticks around for awhile!

Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 2 of 2

We attempted to take pictures on the beach three different times, ha! It was so HOT I was sweating before we even started taking pics! I'm glad we did get a few good ones!
Lillian Grace and Ryan "horsin' around" haha! They are so cute! This was taken at Barefoot Landing, a popular destination for tourist with many cute shops and restaurant.
Ryan looking out into the waves. Did I mention that he loved the ocean?
This is what he did most of the time, ha! I didn't take my eyes off him for a second, he is quick and fearless...SCARY for momma!!!
Please excuse my wild mane in this picture as it was very windy and HOT!!!

Adam and Lillian Grace
She is such a doll!
This is one of my favorite pics of us on the beach!

Adam, Katie and Lillian Grace
Once Ryan was done eating one night he decided to go over and check out what Lillian Grace was having for dinner. She eats EVERYTHING and is such a good eater. I was hoping she would rub off on Ryan but unfortunately that didn't happen. I think he is saying in this pic "LG, what are you eating? That looks gross".
They posed for me!
Ryan found his way into the pantry and pulled out a bag of sun chips and dumbed the entire contents onto the floor. The reason he is crying in this pic is because I was standing right there and saw what was about the happen and told him "NO!!!" Obviously I wasn't quick enough.
I was upset at first then yelled at Matt to grab the camera, ha! Ryan was so cute he started picking up the chips and eating them, hahaha! All we could do was laugh!
Lillian Grace and Ryan hanging out in the Pepper Palace while the guys shopped around for just the right hot sauce. They were obsessed!
Ryan's first carousel ride! He was a little frightened at first but by the end he was enjoying it!

These were taken the morning we left MB. I was glad Ryan got one last play time at the beach.
Before getting on the road we stopped in Krispy Kreme Doughnuts. Oh my word!!!! It's been a long time since I've been in a KK store and had some "hot now" doughnuts. They were to die for! We even took a few extras for a snack on the road. We needed the sugar to stay awake, ha!
Ryan having his first bit of a Krispy Kreme doughnut. And yes, I know, I'm a bad parent and have spoiled my child. Don't worry though, I only gave him about three tiny bits. He loved it!! Good thing we hardly ever had doughnuts! Ha!

Ryan did great on the 12 hour car ride home. We left MB around 9:30 Saturday morning and got home around 9:30pm. We had a wonderful trip to the beach and can't wait for our next beach vacation! Plans are already underway for next year!!!
