Happy Fall Ya'll

Tomorrow is October 1st and I feel like it's really fall now! The weather however went from 80's to 60's overnight. What happened to fall? I love wearing jeans and t-shirts in the fall, especially sporting my TN Vol t's. Hoping it will warm up a tad but I'm loving this fall weather. I love dressing Ryan up in his long sleeve onsies and cute pants.

I can't wait to take Ryan to his first pumpkin patch!

One of my favorite things about fall is hot apple cider. I don't get it very often but when I do it just warms me from the inside out.
I love walking by Bath and Body Works in the mall and smelling the pumpkin spice candles. Love the smell of pumpkin and cinnamon.

One of my favorite decorations is this big pumpkin that sits on my coffee table!

And my little stuffed turkey and small pumpkin!

Matt's favorite thing about fall...the pumpkin filled with candy corn. Love a little yummy sweetness here and there. I love halloween candy! It's my favorite next to easter candy.

Who-Dey

Matt is a huge Cincinnati Bangels fan! A few years ago I got him a Chad Johnson jersey for his birthday!
His grooms cake at our wedding was a bagels cake. Actually it was designed after Nick Lachey's grooms cake when he married Jessica Simpson. The cake wasn't exactly what we wanted but it turned out good and it was very yummy!

Matt was THRILLED the Bangels beat the Pittsburgh Steelers yesterday! They haven't beat the Steelers at Paul Brown stadium (Cincy home turf) since 2001. He was yelling and screaming! Sounded like me watching the Vols, ha! Cincy is proud of their home team again!

Go Bengals, Who-Dey!

Matt's cousin Ellie has a precious daughter Evie who just turned ONE last weekend! We went to Evie's birthday party and it was a blast. Ryan loved seeing Evie and all the people. He did awesome and everyone said he was so good and so adorable. We're looking forward to having dinner with Ellie, Chris and Evie this week. Hopefully Evie and Ryan will be great playmates!

Hold on tight

Ryan has started holding his bottle when we feed him! He's so advance ;) He usually likes to play with my fingers or his bottle while he's eating! It's so cute! He will only hold it for 3-4 min but I'm sure soon enough he will be holding it the whole time! Now if I could only get him to burp himself, ha!

I recently purchased a fireplace screen for our fireplace and I love it! It makes such a difference in our family room! Adds class and elegance! Plus it will keep Ryan away from the hot fireplace in the winter!

I just love this sweet little boy! I love that he loves to cuddle and that I can cradle him and put him to sleep in my arms in seconds! He is the greatest blessing in our lives!

A runner's world

I've continued running during my workouts and feel energized every time I run. I do 3 miles and run every other quarter mile. I try to run 2-3 days a week and walk the other days. I am always looking for new music to download to my ipod. I love music that gets me energized and helps me push myself those last few minutes!

Look at those feet! Maybe Ryan will grow up to be a runner! Ha! He definitely got his feet from his daddy! Mine are short and squaty!

Here's what's on my current playlist:

Britney Spears - Womanizer
Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You
Lady Gaga - Just Dance
Lady Gaga - Poker Face
Pink - So What
Justin Timberlake - I'm Bringing Sexy Back
Keith Urban - Somebody Like You
Huey Lewis and the News - The Power of Love
Marc Cohn - Walking in Memphis
Michael Jackson - Billie Jean
Black Eyed Peas - I Gotta Feeling
Kevin Rudolf - Let it Rock
Gloriana - Wild at Heart
So what is on your playlist for working out?

Did you know?

Do you use Dawn Foam dish soap?
We used it in our house and LOVE it! Especially now that I wash bottles ALL the time, ha! I pick up a bottle almost every time I go to the store! Well Matt found online the consistency is 2/3 water and 1/3 regular dawn soap! Who knew! We tried it out and waala we have dawn foam dish soap. I feel dumb for paying for water this whole time, oh well! If you like the foam soap try it out!

I took Ryan today to get his three month photos taken. We didn't have any newborn pictures taken professionally. I decided I wanted prof. pics of him at 3, 6, 9 and 12 months. We are going Thursday to look at the proofs and decide on what we want. Hope we don't break the bank, ha!

I was a little nervous at how Ryan would do. Well this little boy is the best! He took at great nap this morning for about an hour and a half so he was good and rested. I fed him before we left home and I was so worried he was going to spit up on his outfit during the photos. (I changed him into the outfit after we got to the studio) I took 3 outfits but only wanted to use one! It was soooo cute!
He surprised me and didn't spit up until the very end. I was holding him at the time so it didn't get on him too much. I was so relieved. The photographers did an awesome job of getting him to smile and laugh. They said he was so easy and just adorable. I think we got some really cute pics and I can't wait to see them.

Vol Pride

I can honestly say that I didn't expect TN to walk away winners today against Florida but I was very excited to see they came to play a great game. I was frustrated last week when Crompton make silly mistakes and played like a high school rookie. I was excited to see TN offense actually have their act together today. Of course there were still mistakes made and missed points but overall they played a great game! I'm proud to be a UT Vol (even though I didn't go to school there I consider myself a vol, ha.)
Ryan watched his first TN game while we were in Memphis. He already loves to watch the game. I think it's all the orange that grabs and keeps his attention, ha! He's such a cutie in his orange! Can't wait to buy him more orange as he gets bigger and starts really enjoying the game like his momma!

I have to have Matt's help now getting pics of Ryan smiling. Our camera has an orange light that comes on when you focus the camera and whenever I get Ryan to smile and push the button to focus he gets mesmerized by it and gets a stunned look on his face, ha! I get him to smile and Matt takes the picture now!

He's gonna be such a cute little boy! What a heart breaker! Do you think I'm biased? HA!

He's saying "Crompton, what in the world are you doing? Get some confidence and play some real ball"!

Sweet Love!

Bedtime

Look who is sleeping in his own bed! Well Ryan has been sleeping in his crib for a week now! He is doing really well.
We either get him ready for bed or give him a bath around 7:30. I read him a story and of course Goodnight Moon then I lay him down between 8-8:30. He has done soooo good so far! He doesn't fuss at all!
He sleeps pretty well through the night. He does wake up a couple times during the night and fusses but he won't take a paci and I don't want to pick him up. So I go check on him, usually have to move him back onto his mat and he calms himself down. Usually only takes a couple minutes until he is fast asleep again. I'm praying he grows out of this and will sleep better as time goes on!

We are blessed to have a baby who sleeps well at night. Now if I could only get him to take a nap in the afternoon then he probably wouldn't be so cranky when 4pm rolls around!

Rendezvous

One of our favorite restaurant to visit in Memphis is Rendezvous! It just so happens to also be where we had our first date. It holds a special place in our hearts. My parents and brother were generous enough to watch Ryan one night so we could have a date night. (I heard my brother did alot of the entertaining of Ryan =) He loves his Uncle Matt.

We've only been out one other time without Ryan so it was really nice to get away and focus on the two of us. Hopefully we will get another date night in the next few weeks. It's been a long time since we've been to the movies. It's so expensive these days but we have two movie tickets that we really need to use. I want to see the new Jennifer Anniston movie "Love Happens". It looks so cute!

Our little peanut! Could just squeeze him!

Yummy! Rendezvous is famous for their dry rub ribs. And their sauce is just a little spicy. I get their pork shoulder sandwich and beans. Very good.

Matt of course got the ribs. He loves anything and everything spicy. Rendezvous is also famous for being in the basement of a building, in an ally of downtown Memphis. It can be a little hard to find if you aren't a native Memphian. It's so well worth it.
Matt couldn't resist taking a pic of these yummy ribs. The yellow stuff is coleslaw. Matt actually does not like coleslaw but he loves Rendezvous coleslaw. How funny is that?

So if you are not from Memphis but you find yourself in the city of blues head on down to Rendezvous for the best BBQ around (at least according to the Deepe's)!

Memphis trip

Ryan made his first trip to Memphis over labor day weekend. Our usual 7 hour drive took us about 8 hours. Not too bad with a 2 1/2 month old. We stopped three times. Two to feed Ryan, gas up and take the girls potty and one to change Ryan's poopy diaper. We were so excited to get away and spend some fun time with my parents and family.
We ate dinner at Firebirds. It was soooo yummy! We have figured out that in order to eat out we must go right after Ryan's feeding in the late afternoon (usually at 4). He was awesome at dinner. He was happy and actually took a little nap while we ate.

My brother loves playing with his favorite nephew. I can just see he is going to spoil him for years to come.

We were so excited to spend some time with my parents. They haven't seen Ryan since just after he was born. It was nice to have a little break and have help feeding Ryan. It can be frustrating b/c he spits up so much. We hope to see my parents more often now that they have one adorable grandson. Thanks Mom and Dad for all the help and for an awesome trip.

My dad holding Ryan.

My mom is making the funniest face in this picture. I think she was teaching Ryan to stick out his tongue. I guess he is a quick learner b/c I noticed today he is really sticking out his tongue alot. And not just a little sticking out but like licking-his-lips sticking it out. It's so cute. Is there anything this baby doesn't do that's not cute? Well, his spit up is not cute but we love him anyway. When I get frustrated with the reflux and spit up I just remind myself "it's only spit up, it's only spit up, it could be alot worse".

Four generations - Ryan, Me, my mom and my granny. She turned 90 years old last Sat. on Sept. 12. It was also my parents wedding anniversary. She does good for a 90 year old lady. She's so sweet and we just love getting to see her. So glad she was able to meet Ryan and give him some loving.

It was an awesome trip and we can't wait for our next trip to Memphis over Christmas.

3 Months

Ryan is THREE months old today.

RYAN - What are you up to these days???

  • You are on a pretty good routine. You still eat every three hours and take a morning nap after your first bottle of the day. The rest of the day you 'cat' nap.
  • You smile at us all the time and have started to laugh. We can't get enough of it.
  • You absolutely love it when we play 'patty cake' with you and usually spit up b/c you get so excited. Love it.
  • You don't like to lay down too much. You like to stand up with us holding you. You are so strong!
  • You hate tummy time but we suffer through your crying, ha. You want to be on the go. When we lay you down for tummy time you kick your legs and are so close to rolling over.
  • Your bedtime is between 8-8:30 then you get a last "dreamfeed" bottle at 10PM. You sleep til around 7:30-8:30AM. Mommy likes this as I get a little more sleep.
  • You are sleeping in your crib in your room as of last Saturday night. You've done well but you LOVE to wiggle and are always in a different place in the morning. You are still waking at least a couple times at night fussing and just need your paci. We are praying you grow out of this soon and sleep without waking up.
  • You are wearing size 1-2 diapers and weigh around 13 lbs. You are wearing size 3 month clothes but will soon be "graduating" to 6 month.
  • You love to suck on your fingers/hand. It soothes you when you don't have your paci.
  • You are growing up so very fast right before our eyes. Our love for you grows more every day!
