Welcome Anna Mary Grace Maham

On September 25 we welcomed baby Anna Mary Grace Maham to our family!  She is the newborn daughter to Matt's Uncle Chris and his wife Michelle!  She makes baby #4 for Chris and Michelle!  We went to the hospital Friday night to see the new bundle of joy!  She was absolutely adorable and just a delight to hold!  She was a little fussy since she had tests earlier in the day but she was the cutest little baby!

Had to get a pic of Matt holding the baby!
Anna is the youngest baby he's ever held!  She wasn't even 24 hours old!
Big Sister Miyah holding new sister Anna!
She was so glad it was a girl (she has 2 older brothers)!

Reunion Weekend!

This weekend we traveled to Memphis for my 10 year High School reunion!  We left on Thursday afternoon and traveled home on Monday!  I loved coming back on Monday b/c traffic was light and we left Memphis about 9:30 and drove in all daylight!  We had a blast!  On Friday we had lunch with my best friend Rachel!  She and her husband Eric and her sweet 4 month old baby Alex drove down from Connecticut for the reunion!  We had lunch with them on Friday at Chilli's!  It was so fun and I loved holding my little "nephew" Alex!  He's adorable and such a good baby!
Me holding Alex at lunch!
Raych, Alex and me at lunch!  Isn't he adorable?  Too cute!!!
Look at those chubby little cheeks!  I had to pinch them!
My Mom holding little Alex!
Matt and I before the picnic at Harding!  The reunion consisted of a picnic at our old school Harding Academy, then Sat. evening we had a dinner and all at the Racquet Club of Memphis!
We took a tour of the school at the picnic!  It's amazing how some things change and how some never change!  The school even smelled the same!  What a walk down memory lane!  Here is my brick that my granny gave me as a graduation present!  The better take it with them when they move to the new campus next year!
Micah, Raych and Jim reminiscing over old times in Acappella!
Alex was out for the count during our tour!
Raych and I in front of our 7th grade lockers where our friendship began!  Our lockers were next to each other all through high school up until 11th grade until Joey Richardson was stuck in between us!  (Our lockers were in alphabetical order)

Power is back on at the Deepe House!

Woohoo!  We finally got power on Wednesday afternoon!  I arrived home at 4 and I was thrilled to see the time blinking on the oven when I walked through the door!  Yaaaaah!!!

Hurricane Ike = Tri-State Blackout

Sunday after church Matt and I headed to Chipotle with some friends for lunch!  We were enjoying our lunch when we noticed the wind picking up quit a bit!  Before church Matt had turned on the news to see a major storm heading our way but wouldn't be here til 3pm.  We finished up lunch and headed home!  The wind was so fierce tree limbs were blowing past us, traffic lights swinging violently from their wires, and trees were falling before our eyes!  I was praying the whole time that nothing would hit our car.  We got home right at 3 and of course the power was out!  There was no rain or thunder just gail force winds!  It reminded me of hurricane Elvis that hit Memphis some years ago now!  We noticed alot of our neighbors were losing shingles and we were praying we would not have any damage!  A couple hours after we got home we heard a loud noise and discovered two of our shutters had fallen!  Thankfully, that is the only damage done to our house!  No tree damage, praise the Lord, and no other house damage!

Cincinnati looks like it has been hit by a tornado but in fact it was a hurricane, how strange!  The worse part of the whole thing has been the over 800,000 people and businesses who are out of power.  Duke Energy had sent lots of their trucks down the Houston to help with Hurricane Ike so Cincinnati was blindsided by the crazy wind storm.  Duke has called in trucks from North Carolina and up state New York!  Many counties around us have declared a state of emergency!  It so wild how crazy people go without power!

It's day 3 for us and we still don't have power.  Thankfully it hasn't been to hot so the first night we slept with the windows open and were comfortable!  Yesterday was cloudy and pretty cool!  What a blessing to have nice weather during this time!  Last night we decided to go ahead and clean out the fridge so it didn't smell and nothing leaked!  Our freezer is now completely empty and the fridge only has water, apples and jello!  So strange to have no food or anything cold in the house!  This morning I went to Panera to grab a bagel and some free WiFi but they were out of bagels except for plain or asiago and their server was down and would probably we down the rest of the day!  Gas stations are running out of gas and there is no ice in the city to be found!

We have been going to lifetime fitness to take showers!  Thank the Lord they have nice showers and hairdryers!  I'm so thankful we are members there!  Matt was off work yesterday since the power was off at GE and they had no water!  He was grateful for an extra day off!  He's back at work today!  A lot of our friends have power and have been super generous!  We are optimistic the power will come back on today or really soon!

I've Been Tagged.

I've been tagged by my good friends Leah and Meg.

The rules are:
1. Link to the person who tagged you.  (I don't know how to link, sorry)
2. Mention the rules.
3. Tell six unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag six bloggers by linking.
5. Leave a comment for each blogger.

So here are my quirks, I suppose:

1. I am totally obsessed with Chick-fil-A.
I go to chick-fil-a at least once a week, sometimes more!  I have read Truett Cathy's autobiography(owner and founder of Chick-fil-A)!  Amazing story and if I could I would work for Chick-fil-A in their marketing department!  I frequently tell Matt if we ever move to Atlanta I'm going to work for Chick-fil-A. haha

2. I love miniature dachshunds - especially our babies, Annabelle and Gracie!  I have always loved dachshunds, aka weiner dogs, since I was little.  I fell in love with Molly, our neighbors mini dachshund while I was growing up!  Annabelle and Gracie are the best dogs in the world!  They are such a delight in our lives and I can't imagine life without them!  We frequently call them our 4-legged children!

3. I love blogging!  It's so cool to think I can write stuff and post pictures and friends and family can read immediately!  It's so cool!  I love reading blogs as well!

4. I am an organization freak!  I thrive on a schedule and organization!  I like a neat, clean and organized house!  Not saying mine is always that way but I am much more productive and happy when it is!

5. I have an impeccable knack for finding great parking spots!  My mom and I share this talent and it drives Matt crazy!  I will drive around til I find a great spot!  But it usually doesn't take long! ;)

6.  I love and respect Dave Ramsey!  Dave Ramsey is a radio talk show host who helps people get out of debt and make smart money decisions!  I read his Total Money Makeover years ago and successfully followed his plan to become debt free!  I thoroughly enjoy listening to Dave on the radio help people and be honest with them about their finances!  He's honest and hilarious!

I'm tagging Rachel Morris, Kelly McPherson, Lori McKenzie, Leslie Robus, Laura Dawkins, and Julie Dodson.

Dreams!

Ever since I started my cake decorating classes back in June I have dreamed of having a KitchenAid Mixer!  Many times while making icing I worried my current sunbeam mixer would poop out on me!  Thankfully it never did!  I am asking for this mixer for my birthday or Christmas this year!  I prefer it in black but will accept in any color!  (ha ha)
Here is a sample of the business cards I have created and hope for my small cake decorating business!  Yes, I know, there needs to be a comma after Court but I haven't changed it yet!  I really like them and hopefully I can get some printed this week!  Thanks for all the wonderful and sweet comments about my cakes!   So, let me know what you think of my business cards!!!
