Five on Friday

Here what has been going on this week around here!

1.  Tonight was pizza night with the boys.  They loved it and had the best time making their own pizzas.

2.  I made this Cheesy Sausage Skillet Lasagna this week and it was awesome.  I almost always enjoy recipes from Picky-Palate and she did not disappoint in this recipe.  You can find the recipe HERE

The only difference I made was I added a half pound of ground beef and I used breakfast sausage b/c I didn't have italian sausage on hand.  I'm sure using the italian sausage adds a yummy spice and kick to it.  It was still really good and an easy way to make lasagna.

3.  I know, I'm obsessed!!!  Obsessed with Etsy and monogramming!  Haha!!!  And maybe obsessed with PINK!
What a great "mail" week this week.  I got these adorable goodies in the mail and I am just giddy about them.  Oh I can hardly wait to see sweet Sydney in these adorable outfits.  Way too much fun!

4.
I am so glad some good TV is back on.  Scandal finally started back last night and I was on pins and needles the whole time.  And then my mouth dropped open in the last five minutes.   OMG Olivia, you are in big trouble!!  As you remember I watched all three seasons last semester and now it's my new favorite show.
Do you watch?   I love texting my friends during the show who are watching as well.

And I discovered this awesome medical show a few weeks ago and I love it.  I love the medical shows that usually come on in the summer but this one is a little different.  It's a show about seven residents from Vanderbilt Hospital who are living in a house together in Nashville and going through residency.  It's fascinating to see what they have to go through and the challenges that come with studying to be a doctor.

 5.
This weekend Matt begins his 6 day work week.  From now until April 15th he will be working on Saturday.  Boo ;(  None of us like it but it just comes with the territory of being an accountant.  He is a little nervous about what to expect with his first tax season but I know he will do a great job.

So with Matt working I'm planning to clean the house and get some stuff put away and organized around here.  I told the boys we will do something fun tomorrow but I'm looking forward to a clean house getting stuff done around the house.

Colton's Big Boy Bed

This weekend we finally upgraded Colton to his big boy bed!  When we moved I didn't do much with his room because I knew we would be transitioning him to a big boy room within a few months.  We finally ordered him a mattress and window treatments.  We still don't have anything on the walls but I have to stuff waiting to be hung.  I love the navy and lime green theme.  His bed is super comfy and he loves it.

The last time his bed as a crib.  No cribs in this house...at least for a few weeks, haha!  The nursery furniture has been ordered and should all be in by the end of February.  I cannot wait to put Sydney's nursery together.

The first night in his big boy bed.   He was out within a half hour.  He loves it!  He missed his nap on Saturday so it was early bedtime Saturday night.

Papa Bear had to check out Colton's new mattress Sunday morning.  The boys love jumping on daddy in the bed.  You can see Ryan in the middle and Colton to the far right.

Five on Friday

I had every intention of blogging more this week but I was just not into it and chose to relax during nap time and nightly on the couch.  I'm 31 weeks but feel more like 36, ha!  I'm tired, uncomfortable and feel huge.  I am SO thankful for this baby and an uneventful pregnancy.  Praying for health and some comfort for the next eight weeks.

1.  I finally got my haircut last weekend before heading to Memphis.  It hasn't been cut since back in August and IT WAS TIME!!!  I'm still trying to grow it out so just got a little trim.  A friend recommended this cute little boutique super close to our house.  It was just the perfect freshening up I needed.

I saw this sign in the little store and thought it was perfect!  I think I need to go back and get it!

2.  Colton doesn't have school on Friday's so I get to spend some precious one on one time with this cutie pie.  I usually go to the gym then he helps me run errands and we grab lunch before picking up Ryan at school.  He is so good and so easy when it's just him.  I love spending this sweet time with just him as the baby before baby Sydney comes in just a couple of months.

3.  This sweet five and a half year old complained (more like cried hysterically) that his throat hurt after school on Wednesday.  I totally started thinking strep throat since he didn't have any other symptoms.  A lot of his classmates have been out sick this week too.  He didn't have a fever and thankfully after some tylenol and a glass of milk he said he felt all better.  I keep asking him but he says it doesn't hurt anymore.  Hope that's all the sickness we see for a while.

4.  I am completely and over the top obsessed with Etsy.  I know, shocker right?  Mostly I have bibs and burp clothes and a few onesies in my shopping cart but there are a few nursery items in there too.

I'm been in full on nesting mode getting the nursery ready for Sydney.   Both the boys have life verses hung up in their rooms.  It's something I always want them to have and be able to look to for encouragement and direct them toward Jesus.  We both want to always cover them in prayer and God's word.

I had been thinking about a life verse for Sydney and I couldn't stop thinking about this verse in Zephaniah.  My favorite part is where it says "He will rejoice over you with singing".  How cool is that?  God rejoices over us with song!!!  I found this printable verse with her nursery colors and knew it was perfect.  I'm going to matte it in a big white matte and frame (since her walls will be light blue/aqua).  I will love seeing this in her room every day.

5.  Resting and relaxing with my boys.  I've pretty much hung up my apron and cookie decorating bags until April.  (Unless I get a burst of energy for some Valentine's Day cookies)  I'm doing good to get dinner on the table each night, ha.  It's just too hard with baby moving all over my belly and it's exhausting.   I want to enjoy these next couple of months with just my boys!  And stock pile as much sleep as I can!

As soon as I sit down everyone wants to sit in my lap including and especially Annabelle and Gracie.   This was one afternoon this week when everyone wanted in my lap.  And you can't see Gracie under the blanket under Annabelle.  There is not enough of momma to go around.

Sad but Joyous

Sadly my sweet Granny passed away this past Friday 1/16 afternoon.  It's sad because we will miss her dearly but joyous because she had an amazing 95 years on this earth and now she gets to be reunited in heaven with her loving husband, my Papaw, who passed 20 years ago.

Not many people make it to see 95 and I'm so thankful she did had a beautiful and long life.  She was my last grandparent and the only one to meet my kids.  The picture above is of my granny and my cousin Amber a few years ago.

My Granny loved her family, her friends, crossword puzzles, reading, and her passion was quilting.  She loved to quilt and always looked forward to quilting with her friends.  I'm so thankful to have some of her beautiful quilts around our house.

We traveled to Memphis on Saturday to celebrate her beautiful life.  It was great to see some relatives and show Matt and the boys my granny and papaw's home where I spent so many weekends and holidays.  Such a big part of my childhood.

30 Weeks

I'm 30 weeks!

I haven't been great at taking pictures or updating this time around.  That's the third baby for ya, ha!  It's been almost two months since I took a picture.

As you can tell me and this baby are growing fast!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 30 weeks
Gender: It's a GIRL!!!!
Sydney Deborah

Movement: She moves constantly!  It feels like summersaults in my belly all the time.  Lately I've been felling a foot (maybe a butt or head, who knows) in my ribs.  Fun times!
Sleep:  Sleeping great!
What I miss:  Not a lot.
Cravings:  nothing really except fruit and sweet tea
Symptoms: I get tired so easily.  I'm still working out 5 days a week but by the time we get home from school in the afternoons I am beat and ready to lay down and rest, and I usually do.  I don't like to sit in one spot for very long.  I get restless and have to move.   I hate to complain because honestly I am so thankful to have made it this far with a healthy baby and pregnancy.

I had my glucose test a few weeks ago and I passed, woohoo!

I had my 30 week appointment today.  Hearing baby's heartbeat never gets old.  Sydney had a great heartbeat of 140 today.  She was wiggling and moving all around for the nurse.

Here is a comparison photo of all three pregnancies.
Ryan, Colton and Sydney (all at 30 weeks)
I am so excited to meet this sweet baby girl and cannot wait to see what she will look like.

Power T and Snowflake Cookies

I had a great month in December for my cookie business.  I sold a lot of cookies and so thankful to make some extra cash.  Here are a few cookie orders I've had in January.

I made these "Power T's" for a wedding rehearsal dinner.  Love the theme! ;)

I made these pink snowflakes and number 1's for a sweet baby's first birthday.

Happy Monday

I have been so bad about taking pictures lately.  I had Matt remind me to take pictures after church yesterday and take a maternity picture of me.  Baby Sydney is not going to have many pictures of her in my belly, haha.  Guess that's baby #3 for ya.  I think I'm the same size I was with Colton but I just don't want (or have time) to take weekly pictures this time around.

I will have to find some comparison pictures and will post a baby update this week.

We had a productive and quiet weekend.  We took down all the Christmas decorations and packed them away in the attic until next year.  It feels so bare and empty now but it feels clean.  I'm so glad to have it all put away.

Now it's time to start getting out all the baby stuff, ugh.  I am SO SO SO thrilled to be having a baby but I hate how cluttered your house gets with all that comes with a baby, like the bassinet, swing, bouncy seat, high chair blah blah blah!  At least this time when it comes out of the attic it won't be going back in!  I am so nesting and ready to get Sydney's room all ready for her!  Eeek!!!!

And Matt introduced the boys (mainly Ryan) to the Wii this weekend.  Ryan LOVED it and really likes golf and bowling!  They have asked no less than 10 times today to play games.  I just tell them they have to wait til daddy gets home, I don't know how to turn it on (even though I do, hahaha).

Happy New Year

Our Christmas festivities contented into the new year!  My parents and brother came to visit on New Years Day.  It's so nice that we are only three hours from them now!  They came up on Thursday and stayed til Sunday.

I am so sad that I didn't get many pictures with them.  For some reason I forget to pull out my camera when they are here.  Thankfully we will see them in about a month so we will have to make up.

The boys were excited to open their Christmas presents from Nana, Grandad and Uncle Matt.  The boys got some more legos and these cool air planes that make noise.  My parents got them remote control monster trucks and they LOVE them.  They are slightly obsessed!  They are the fastest remote control cars I've ever seen.  They will be perfect to take outside when it gets warm.

My mom and I did some more shopping for baby Sydney while they were here.  I love having someone to ohh and ahh over everything.  It's so surreal that we will be welcoming a sweet baby girl in just a few months!!!

We enjoyed a nice visit and look forward to seeing them again soon!
