14 weeks!

Well I am officially 14 weeks!  It's so hard to believe I am in my second trimester!  I am continuing to do really well and slowly getting my energy and appetite back!  Last night we had pork chops and mac 'n cheese for dinner and it was really, really good!  I was surprised how much I enjoyed it!  I keep telling Matt I didn't have much of an appetite around dinner time!  I'm glad that is changing!  I'm still wearing my regular clothes but I'm afraid maternity clothes are in the near future!  I did buy one pair of maternity corduroy pants to wear to church!  My church pants are no longer comfortable!

This week the baby is 3 1/2 - 4 inches long and weighs about 1 ounce.  The baby can now squint, frown, grimace and even suck its' thumb!  Its' kidneys are now producing urine!  The hands and feet are much more active now even though I can't feel any movement yet!  It's so amazing to read week by week how the baby is developing!  I can't wait to feel movement!  I think it will become more real when I feel those first kicks!

I'm looking forward to Christmas next week!  Matt is off Wed. through the new year!  I'm excited to have him home and hopefully get some things done on our "list".  We are hoping to paint the baby's room and get our basement ready to start remodeling in January!  I'm also looking forward to seeing my family next week! Yay!

Baby's First Picture

Yesterday we were thrilled to have an ultrasound and see our precious baby!  It's so amazing and unbelievable seeing that tiny miracle on the screen and knowing that's going on inside you!  The best was when we could see the baby move!  Just awesome!  I am 13 weeks right now and still feeling pretty good!  I'm feeling my lower abdomen beginning to get bigger and poke out now, especially after I eat a big meal!  I can't wait to feel the baby move but that is still weeks away!  The technician took measurements of the baby and my dr. will go over them at our next appt. in Jan.  It was such a relief and awesome feeling to see our tiny miracle yesterday!  We pray every day that God will continue to grow and nourish our sweet miracle into a healthy baby!
Here you can barely see it's little legs are crossed!

Don't ask me what the other ones are b/c the tech went so fast we didn't get a chance to remember all she said!

We have a heartbeat!!!!!!

Today was our second doctors appointment and we got to hear our sweet baby's heartbeat!  At first it took a couple minutes for the nurse to find it but when she did it was unbelievable!!!  I was a little nervous but very relieved to hear that beautiful sound!  The heartbeat was 160 bpm!  Matt was so cute and jumped up when she found it!  And we are super excited to have an ultrasound scheduled for next Thursday, gosh, I can't wait to see this tiny baby!!!  It's feeling more real now!  Wow!!!

Thanksgiving in Memphis

We had a great Thanksgiving this year!  We were in Memphis last week to spend the holiday with my family!  It was nice to be home and see everyone!  My brother's birthday is this Thursday and I decided to make him a cake while home!  It was a yellow cake with chocolate frosting!  It turned out great and very yummy!  Good thing I only had one piece and left the rest in Memphis!  No need to pack on any more pounds than I already will!

These are my adorable cousins (they are my first cousins kids)!  Ali, Will and Julie!
They were too cute taking this picture and were hamming it up pretty well!

Baby news!

So I thought I would update everyone on some baby news!  Thanks to everyone who has made comments on my page!  Ya'll are so sweet!  So glad everyone is excited for us!

I am 10 1/2 weeks right now and doing really well!  I must admit I think I am doing much better than most pregnant women!  I was only sick (mild nausea) from week 5 1/2 to week 8.  I haven't gotten sick once the whole time!  My biggest "symptom" is fatigue and exhaustion!  I will do simple tasks like cleaning the bathroom and I feel exhausted when I'm done and just have to sit down!  I'm hoping i'm on the tail end of the sick/exhaustion phase!  Hard to believe I'm almost through my first trimester!  Sometimes I don't even feel pregnant, it's weird!

My clothes are becoming a little more snug!  I'm hoping to go shopping with my Mom over Thanksgiving!  Matt is taking some time off around Christmas and we are planning to paint the babies room!  It's pretty much empty already so not much to clean out!  I've been reading lots of books right now about pregnancy and babies!  If anyone has any book recommendations I would love to hear them!

Baby Deepe is on its way!  Yup, that's right, we're pregnant!  We are very blessed to be expecting a baby in June '09!  We couldn't be more excited and thrilled to have a baby on the way!  Woohoo =)  I took a home pregnancy test on a Wednesday morning but didn't tell Matt I was testing!  I knew he would call and want to know the results and I didn't want to share the news over the phone, I wanted to tell him in person!  So I waited all day and afternoon for him to come home and finally he got home around 8 and I had the test in my hand!  I told him there was something I needed to show him then I pulled the test out!  He was shocked to say the least!  He was really cute and really excited!

Right now I am 9 weeks along and doing really well!  I've been tired a lot and only a little bit of nausea!  I'm realizing how blessed I am to have a great pregnancy so far!  We had our first appointment last week and everything is great!  Our next appointment is Dec. 5 and we should be able to hear the heartbeat at that appointment!  I can't wait!

We have known for a little over 4 weeks now and have been busting at the seams to tell everyone but wanted to wait until we told our parents in person!  Hence the weekend we spent in Knoxville with my fam!  We told our parents and most of our family this past weekend and everyone is so excited for us!  We are so glad to have our big secret out!

Tennessee v. Wyoming Game

This past weekend we traveled to Knoxville to go to the Tennessee v. Wyoming game!  It was my Dad's Father's Day present from "the kids"!  So my parents and brother met us in Knoxville for the weekend!  Unfortunately Tennessee played horrible and lost the game to Wyoming but it was still a fun weekend!  It was nice to see my family and spend some time with them!

Tennessee has really been struggling this year and just fired their head coach Phillip Fulmer last week!  It's kinda sad since he's been at TN for so long (17 years) so I'm sure it feels like family to him!  I'm anxious to see who the next coach will be and hopefully drag us out of the rut TN has been in for the past few years!
First TN shirt Matt has ever worn!  haha  A present from my parents!
Thanks Mom & Dad, I thought I would never get him in a TN shirt!

VOTE

Today is a big day for our nation as history will be made in one way or another!  I consider it a privilege to vote!  I feel like my vote really counts since I live in Ohio, a swing state of course!  I enthusiastically voted for McCain/Palin today!  Tonight we will be watching and waiting with some friends!  I am praying for our nation and for the next leaders of our country!
God Bless America!!!

Howl-o-ween

Friday night Matt and I were excited about handing out candy to the neighborhood kids!  Since we don't have innocent children to dress up in cute and adorable costumes we dressed up the girls (our doxies Annabelle and Gracie).  The kids LOVED the costumes and weren't even interested in the candy once they saw the girls!  Here are some pics from the night!

Gracie as a ladybug!

Weekend in Nashville

This past weekend Matt and I traveled to Nashville for my friend Anna's wedding!  Since we were in Nashville we, of course, had to stop by Dave Ramsey's office - Financial Peace Plaza in Brentwood, TN.  As I've said before, we are huge Dave fans and enjoy his show and teachings!  We are excited our church is beginning Financial Peace University in January!  We are hoping we can help facilitate in any way!
Anna's wedding was absolutely beautiful!!!  My pics got out of order when posting, sorry for the disorganization!

The cake was awesome!  Yum, makes me hungry for more cake!
My dear, sweet friend Melanie!  I loved the dresses, so pretty!

Gov. Sarah Palin

Last Thursday I was excited to go see Sarah Palin in Wilmington, OH!  I went with my friends Kendra and Sally!  We were so excited to see Governor Palin!  We waited in line for over 2 1/2 hours to get into the building and then waited another 45 min. or so for Sarah to speak!  She was great and did an awesome job!  She had 3 of the kids with her, Willow, Piper and littlest Trigg!  The crowd went nuts over her and she fired everyone up for the next 21 days!  I love Sarah Palin, I think she is the best VP candidate for John McCain!  She is a strong and powerful women in today's politics and I admire her!

Doesn't hurt that she looked fantastic! =)

Course 4 Final Cake

Well I am officially done with my cake decorating classes!  My last class was on Monday!  I am thinking more and more that fondant and gumpaste is the way to go for me!  It makes the cakes look really good and it's easier to work with than icing!  I love this cake and I'm so proud of it!  I think it's my favorite cake so far!!!

Welcome Anna Mary Grace Maham

On September 25 we welcomed baby Anna Mary Grace Maham to our family!  She is the newborn daughter to Matt's Uncle Chris and his wife Michelle!  She makes baby #4 for Chris and Michelle!  We went to the hospital Friday night to see the new bundle of joy!  She was absolutely adorable and just a delight to hold!  She was a little fussy since she had tests earlier in the day but she was the cutest little baby!

Had to get a pic of Matt holding the baby!
Anna is the youngest baby he's ever held!  She wasn't even 24 hours old!
Big Sister Miyah holding new sister Anna!
She was so glad it was a girl (she has 2 older brothers)!

Reunion Weekend!

This weekend we traveled to Memphis for my 10 year High School reunion!  We left on Thursday afternoon and traveled home on Monday!  I loved coming back on Monday b/c traffic was light and we left Memphis about 9:30 and drove in all daylight!  We had a blast!  On Friday we had lunch with my best friend Rachel!  She and her husband Eric and her sweet 4 month old baby Alex drove down from Connecticut for the reunion!  We had lunch with them on Friday at Chilli's!  It was so fun and I loved holding my little "nephew" Alex!  He's adorable and such a good baby!
Me holding Alex at lunch!
Raych, Alex and me at lunch!  Isn't he adorable?  Too cute!!!
Look at those chubby little cheeks!  I had to pinch them!
My Mom holding little Alex!
Matt and I before the picnic at Harding!  The reunion consisted of a picnic at our old school Harding Academy, then Sat. evening we had a dinner and all at the Racquet Club of Memphis!
We took a tour of the school at the picnic!  It's amazing how some things change and how some never change!  The school even smelled the same!  What a walk down memory lane!  Here is my brick that my granny gave me as a graduation present!  The better take it with them when they move to the new campus next year!
Micah, Raych and Jim reminiscing over old times in Acappella!
Alex was out for the count during our tour!
Raych and I in front of our 7th grade lockers where our friendship began!  Our lockers were next to each other all through high school up until 11th grade until Joey Richardson was stuck in between us!  (Our lockers were in alphabetical order)
