Welcome Home!

Just like that we have moved to Nashville!!!  Last Saturday the packers came to pack up our entire house and on Monday the movers came and loaded it all onto a "big orange truck", as the boys keep calling it.

Our house was full of boxes over the weekend.

Monday night we "camped" out at our empty house for one last night in our house on Silver Fox Court.  The boys were excited to sleep in their sleeping bags and did awesome.  The movers didn't finish up and pull out until about 9pm so the boys were good and tired after a long day.  Mom and dad were exhausted too!

Tuesday morning we finished cleaning up the house and loaded our cars with everything left.  We finally hit the road around 11am.  We drove straight to our new house here in Nashville for our finale walk through before closing.

We stayed in a hotel Tuesday night in Franklin then got up early to go to our house closing.  We decided to hit up Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for breakfast.  It was the boys first visit and they were in donut heaven.

They stared and watched all the hot donuts come down the conveyer belt.  It was a fun experience for sure.

And of course we enjoyed some yummy donuts and chocolate mild for breakfast.

We wrapped it up and headed to the closing.  Our movers called on the way to the new house and said they were ready and waiting.  Talk about perfect timing!  It was HOT and muggy but these guys got started right away and worked their tales off until every last box was in our new house about six hours later.  SO thankful for the Allied guys!  They were so gentle and careful with our stuff and new house.  Would highly recommend them if you are moving local or long distance.

After they left my fun began with unpacking.  For the first few days I felt I was up to my eyeballs in boxes and packing paper.  It felt like it would never end.

Slowly we are getting more unpacked.  It's hard when you go from three floors to just two.  We have about the same amount of square foot but we lost our basement so trying to figure out where all that stuff goes is a little challenging.  We are getting there.  Slowly the house is coming together.

Thankfully I had the kitchen unpacked within a few days.  That was priority.  Matt was tired of eating out but we made a dinner night out to Puckett's in downtown Franklin.  One of our favorite places here.  We are enjoying eating at new local places around town.

At Puckett's I had this AMAZING chocolate chess pie that was to die for.  It was SOOOO yummy!

It's been a crazy week but I will say it's all gone very smooth.  Moving is not easy and I don't know if we will ever do it again but I will say it's been good and the boys have been real troopers.  They seem to be adjusting well and excited to explore our new city.

Spending Time with Friends

Our theme this week has been "spend quality time with friends and family".  We had a busy week of play dates and fun lunches.  We went to Kings Island twice this week with our neighbors, Josh and Jake.

Josh and Jake are also five years old.  All four of the boys get along so well.  Colton of course thinks he is five and tries to do everything like the big boys.

The three amigos heading to the big train.

The highlight of both days was riding the big train.  They LOVED it!!!

Josh and Jake and identical twins and I still can't tell them apart.  I think this is Josh!

The Beetle Bugs is one of the boys favorite rides.  It cracks me up to watch them fly around the corner.

On Friday Colton rode his first roller coaster - the Great Pumpkin Roller Coaster.  He was a little scared but he liked it once he got it.

On Friday. the highlight of the day was when they got to meet conductor John and get a tour of the train engine.  They were all in heaven!  Trains are the way to all their hearts. (Colton was intimidated by the big engine, he chose to hang with mommy)

We have enjoyed seeing all our friends over the last few days.  We are going to miss them all so much but we are looking forward to our new adventure.

SOLD

It's Official......we signed the papers today and we have a contract on our house!!!!!!  We are so excited, blessed, and relieved.  We head out on our new adventure in Nashville next week so it's such a relief to have sold our house!  We are so thankful for awesome realtors who worked so hard and got the job done!

We celebrated tonight by going to dinner with Uncle Steve and Aunt Teresa.  The boys loved seeing them and were so good.  I enjoyed catching up with them (Matt was at his last men's bible study).

Our Weekend

Saturday night Ryan and Colton headed to my in-laws for a last sleep over at Papau and Yaiya's.  They were so excited!  Matt and I headed out for a date night.  Since our washer broke last month we needed to pick out a new washer and dryer so we headed to Sears.  Such a romantic date night - picking out appliances.  At least it's done and they will be delivered to our new house in a few weeks!

Sunday we went to church and had an open house.  Sunday night we headed over to my in-laws to pick up the boys and have dinner.

It was a good and busy weekend!

Touch-A-Truck

I took the boys to Touch a Truck in Montgomery today!  They LOVE all kinds of trucks including Fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, dump trucks and garbage trucks.  They had a blast and loved getting up close and getting in the drivers seat of these cool vehicles.

Their favorite was the fire truck with the tall ladder.

Let's hope this is the only time these two will ever be in the back of a police car.

The boys loved the tractor!  It was a fun day and we loved hanging out with friends.

Wordless Wednesday

We have been playing outside a lot lately since I'm trying to keep our house clean and staged for showings (ugh,  have I mentioned that I'm so tired of living in a staged home and so ready for this house to sell??).  I put the boys' beloved sand box up since the house went on the market so they improvise with their construction trucks in the mulch.  Bless their heart!  Whatever makes them happy!

Splash Park and New Home

Last week we headed to Nashville to take care of some business before the big move.  We officially move two weeks from tomorrow.  AHHHHHH!!  Craziness has ensued!  We are still waiting on an offer on our house here.  SOOO ready to be done with living in a staged home, dropping everything for a showing, very little cooking and keeping the house clean at all times.  I'm going crazy!  Frazzled is my new word!  Praying our right buyers come soon!

Back to Nashville...Matt met up with some head hunters and recruiters.  He had a very successful day.  They assured him he should have no trouble finding a job.  They basically said he needs to concentrate on his last CPA exam and hit the job stuff once we move.  Great plan - Got it!

While Matt was brown nosing, the boys and I went to the splash park with my girlfriend Courtney and her girls.  The splash park was in downtown Nashville and recently opened.  The boys loved the big buildings.  It was super fun but a little crowded.

I was excited to meet Courtney's friend Jenn, who is one of my new neighbors.  She lives around the corner from our new house.  She has a son Brayden that is four and he and Ryan hit it off immediately.  Ryan kept calling him his new friend.  I am so excited for a new friend in our new city.

Friday we went to our new house to meet with our builder and go over house stuff.  We had to go over stuff the inspector found then our builder addressed.

The boys went absolutely nuts in the house.  They were running around in circles and running up and down the stairs a million times.  They were wild.  We had our first of many picnics on the back patio.  It was Matt's first time to see the house and I was so excited for him to finally see it.  He LOVED the house and really happy with my choice.  We went over everything from where the water shutoff is to what type of pipes he used in the crawl space.  It was ALOT of information.  We were all exhausted by the time it was over four hours later.

We really like our builder, even though it's a spec home we couldn't have picked a better builder to build our dream home.  I love everything about this house from the floor plan to the fixtures.  It's everything I've ever dreamed of.  I have to keep pinching myself that this is real, that we are really moving to my dream city Nashville!
