Just to see you smile!

We witnessed one of the sweetest things in the world last night...Ryan's first smile!

It was his first smile that wasn't from gas and was in response to us smiling at him! We got it on video but it's too big to post here! It was the sweetest thing to see and just made me fall in love with him more! He is the sweetest baby and is so loving! I could seriously just eat him up!

We are starting to see positive results from the prevacid. He is still spitting up but it's not nearly as bad as it was. And he doesn't seem to be as fussy!
Thank goodness!!!

Wordless Rainy Wednesday

It's raining cats and dogs here in Cincy therefore Ryan and I are chillaxin at home today!

It won't be long before Ryan is bigger than his big sister Annabelle, ha!
(And no mom, we didn't let Annabelle kiss Ryan ;)

Where did the month go?

Playtime

Ryan is becoming more alert each day! He enjoys his toys more and actually reaches out to bat at them! He's starting to really put on some weight and started taking 5 oz at each feeding beginning last week!
We went to his one month doctors appointment last Thursday! He is doing great and growing well! He now weighs 8lbs 12oz (25th percentile) and 22 inches long (75th percentile). The doctor was very pleased with his growth. We did have some questions though about his fussiness, he seems to have it a lot, more so than most babies. And his spitting up. He's been spitting up ALOT! I know all babies spit up but he seems to spit up or projectile vomit quite a bit. Along with some other symptoms the doctor said it could possibly be one of two things, either acid reflux or an allergy to the formula. He said it sounded more like acid reflux and gave us some samples of prevacid to try. We started that night and he seems to be doing better. I hate giving his medicine but the good news is the doctor said most babies outgrow acid reflux by 6 months!
He's just such a sweet baby, even when he's throwing up on me and him at 3 in the morning, ha! We absolutely love having him apart of our family and spending all our time with him!
My workouts have been going well. I ran 3 days last week and took Ryan on a walk almost every day! I ran 1 mile 1 day and 1.5 miles the other 2 days! I'm so motivated to get this baby weight off but I sure wish it would hurry up and move faster! Last week was my first time shopping for real clothes, not maternity clothes, in over 9 months. Oh how I have missed that! Now I can't wait til I'm in my goal size!

1 Month Old

Ryan turns 1 month old today! Hard to believe how fast this past month has gone by! It's been good, draining, but great! I love being a mom! It's definitely hard work but oh so rewarding! We go to the pediatrician tomorrow for his 1 month check up and shots =( Hoping that he's gained more weight! Will update tomorrow with new stats!

Here are some of the things he is doing now:
- moving arms around alot and bating at objects
- loves to kick his legs
- on a schedule of eating every 3 hours during the day and wakes up at 3am and 7am in the night to eat
- noticing objects on his mobile and play mat and likes to watch them
- loves to hold his head up and does so well
- can move his head from side to side when lying on stomach
- loves his swing and play mate
- just being plain cute!!!
- And he's on verge of smiling at us, I can just tell, I am his momma after all! ha

His GQ look! Precious!
First trip to Montgomery Inn to eat all you can eat ribs! He was mad though that we wouldn't let him have any ribs...maybe next time!
We don't look sleep deprived...looks can be deceiving!

Happy 4th of July
My sweet, sweet boy! I could just eat him up!

Back in the saddle

I'm officially back in the saddle again! Saturday I went to the gym for the first time in almost 2 months! I purchased my new running shoes last week and tried them out this weekend!
The whole time I was pregnant I kept saying I was going to start running to lose my baby weight! I've signed up to run the Race for the Cure 5K in September and my goal is to run the whole thing! Saturday I started on that journey! I started out just running to see how far I could run and then I set the goal to hit one mile! And I did it! I was so proud of myself! I'm off to a great start! Planning to hit the gym again tonight when Matt gets home from work! I forgot how exhilarating running can be!

Strolling and growing

Ryan has been in our lives for 3 weeks now! Time is just flying by! Matt had a 4 day weekend and we enjoyed spending lots of time with him (plus I appreciated the help with Ryan)! We had a pretty low key 4th of July! We ate dinner at home, hung out with the neighbors shooting fireworks and watched the Loveland firework show from down the street! Ryan slept through the whole thing! The loud booms didn't even phase him!

We've ventured out alot more this past week including 'all you can eat ribs' at Montgomery Inn, visiting grandpa and grandma Deepe, visiting Uncle Steve and Aunt Teresa and of course Chick-fil-A! ha! I've also been trying to take Ryan on a walk every day! I need the exercise and I'm sure Ryan enjoys the fresh air!
Here we are strollin the neighborhood!

He's growing so much and looks like a little man here I think! We think he's about 8 lbs now and eating 3 1/2 to 4 oz at each feeding! Some of his newborn clothes are getting snug on him so we went shopping yesterday to get some cute new outfits!

Snoozin after a bath!

Can he be any cuter?

Ryan turned 2 weeks old on Monday! Hard to believe it's been 2 weeks since he was born! I love how I see new things about him every day! His eyelashes are starting to really fill out! His little face is filling out as he is gaining around 1-2 oz per day! He looks at me constantly when I'm feeding him! He is such a delight and a great baby! Here are some pics from our 2nd week with Ryan!
I was playing around trying to get some photographer worthy photos! I just bought a basic black sheet from Target and got out the Nikon camera! I was very pleased at how this one came out! I'm planning to have some newborn pics of Ryan done. I'm searching for a photographer right now.

Love a sleeping baby!
Another trip to the pediatrician! We've got a growing boy on our hands!

Our first trip out to dinner!
It was a quick one, we went to Penn Station and Ryan slept the entire time!

Love this photo of Ryan in the tub! He loves his bath!

Sleeping in Nana's arms before they headed back to Memphis!

One happy boy! I love how this one looks like he is laughing!

Annabelle and Gracie are adjusting to their new little brother! Gracie just wants to lick him from head to toe, ha! He hasn't noticed them yet but I know they will be best buds one day! I will say though that with 2 dogs and a new baby that I have my hands full during the day! By the time Matt gets home in the afternoon I am worn out but don't feel like I got much done during the day! Guess that's the life of a new mom!
