Some Funnies

Ryan and Colton are such great brothers.  I love watching and hearing them interact with each other and with Matt and I.
They say some of the funniest things and I just wanted to document a few funnies.

The other day we were driving to swim lessons and Ryan says from the backseat "mommy, that house looks like Papau's house"  I said, "really, you think so" and he said "yeah, it has a mustache".  I started laughing and tried to think why he thought Papau's house has a mustache.  Well above his garage there is a black bird with its' wings out right above their garage.  Yup, kinda looks like a mustache!  Love it!

They both LOVE to watch Sheriff Callie on Disney Junior.  There are two twin pigs on the show and they said "Cheers, to my buddy" and the boys love to say this to each other and it is so cute.

Ryan's favorite game to play in the car is "I spy with my little eye".  I'm not sure where he learned it because I've never taught him. It's cute and he will randomly start playing.

I got the boys the game Guess Who? and they are loving it.  It was one of my favorite games as a kid.  It's changed a little and has 4 cards with different themes from food, transportation, and sea creatures.  It's so fun and I love playing it with Ryan.

VBS and Injuries

Ryan has been attending Vacation Bible School all week at our church.  This is his first year to attend VBS!  He has LOVED it all week!  I can tell he loves it so much because he talks about the Bible stories, the songs and the crafts constantly.  I am thankful for an amazing church who invests so much in our kiddos.

While Ryan was at VBS Colton and I went to the gym.  Every day this little fella has been sad he isn't going to VBS.  He will get to go in a few years.  For now he gets to go to Little Gym camp once a week and he loves, loves it.  It has been nice spending some one on one time with my youngest the last few days.

And this happened this past Friday.  I walked into the door frame of our bathroom.  OUCH!!!  I think I might have broken my pinky toe but if I did they can't do anything for you.  It just has to heal on it's own.  It was super painful the first three days and is finally now starting to feel better.

This week has been busy with VBS and just day to day stuff but nothing very exciting.  Hoping we get some bites on the house soon.  The countdown has begun til the big move....ahhhhhh.....I can't believe it's really happening.

Happy 34th Birthday Matt

Friday was Matt's 34th birthday!

Matt has been so stressed lately, I knew exactly what I wanted to get him for his birthday.  I got him a message so he could relax and hopefully get rid of some of the stress.

Matt was so thankful for his message and it really helped him relax and get rid of the stress...at least for a little while.

I arranged for a sitter Friday night so we could go out and have a nice dinner.  Matt decided he wanted to go to Horseshoe Casino since we've been saying we have wanted to go since it opened about a year ago.  We ate at Bobby Flay's Burger Palace at the casino.  It was super yummy and we loved it.  We walked around a little and played the slots a little.

We left the casino and headed to Starbucks to just spend some quality time together.  It was a fun night and I was excited to celebrate my sweetheart and best friend.

Trust

I read this verse today in my quiet time and it hit me like a ton of bricks.  Jeremiah 10:23 "I know, Oh Lord, that the way of man is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps."

It's been quit stressful around here the last few months!  Let's just put it all out on the table.  Matt started CPA stuff back in May.  He's taken 2 out of the 4 exams.  He did awesome on the first text but hasn't received scores on text #2 yet.  His next exam (the hardest one) is in eleven days.  He is a ball of stress right now.  I've been taking care of the boys almost 100% of the time including baths and bedtime and trying to make sure Matt has enough study time.  All the man does is study from sun up, small breaks to eat, study more, see us a little and study before going to bed.  Only one month left to go then no more studying!  Woohoo!

Moving on...yeah so, we need to sell our house!  Uhm yeah, this keeping a house clean while it's on the market is for the birds!  It's hard stuff!  I'm exhausted!  And Matt is working with multiple head hunters in Nashville to get leads on jobs.

Needless to say we are a little stressed in the Deepe house right now!  I am SOOOOOO grateful for a wonderful husband who has graciously hitched his wagon to follow my dream!  I am over the moon excited to move to Nashville!  It's been a dream of mine for a looooong time and no, it's not because I can sing because I can't carry a tune in a bucket, but I just love that town and I love the south!  It's what I know and it's home for me!

I was talking to a friend yesterday about all these "things" going on in our life and she said "those are all things you can't control!"  Bingo!  Ok God, I get it!  Then I came home to read that verse in Jeremiah! Ok ok ok God, I really get it now!  I CAN'T control any of this, it's all about you and YOUR timing.  So I had a come to Jesus and told God I was surrendering all these things and laying them at his feet.  I'm not in control nor do I want to be.  God continues to show us that he is moving in a mighty way in our lives!  He is working behind the scenes and He has bigger plans than we could ever imagine!

Oh yeah, and did I mention the theme of Sunday's sermon at church was "Stop worrying, trust Jesus!"
Ok God, I get it!!!

Our Weekend

This weekend was pretty quiet around here!  On Saturday the boys and I ran errands.  We had stuff to take back to stores and I promised them a pancake treat.  They were pretty good for me and we got everything accomplished we set out to do.

Sunday we went to church in the morning then we had to book it to grab the dogs at home and get the house ready for our first open house.  I packed our lunch and took the boys (and dogs) to the park.  Sometimes, most of the time I feel like a circus with two boys 5 and under and two dogs.  It's quit crazy when I have to take the boys and the dogs out but thankfully all went well and we took cover in the car before the down pour came.

House News:  We had a good open house.  We've had a few people interested but not getting as much traffic as I would like.  The feedback is great and everyone says the house looks amazing and shows very well.  We just need the right people to come through and make an offer.

Soak City

We got Kings Island passes this year.  The season passes also get you in to their water park, Soak City.  I decided to take the boys on Friday since it was suppose to be a warm day.  Our friend Morgain and her little guy Ian decided to join us.

The boys had the best time playing in the water.  They all immediately climbed up on the big slides in the kiddie area and all three went down.  Ryan LOVED it and Colton was scared out of his mind.  Bless him.  He had no hesitation getting on the slide but that was it.  He refused to go on any other slides the rest of the day except for the little baby slides.

It was a great day and we can't wait to go back.

Check-ups

Ryan and Colton had their three and five year check-ups on Tuesday!

Ryan is moving right along on the growth chart.  He is 38 lbs (33rd percentile) and is 45 inches tall (70th percentile).  I can't believe how big he is getting.  He doesn't have any baby left, he is all little boy.

He is hitting all his milestones and doing amazing.  Dr. H was glad to hear that he is going to pre-K in the fall.  He also said it's about time for the training wheels to come off his bike, eek!  I told Matt that is all him.  I just think learning to ride a bike is a daddy/father thing.  He is also getting better with his fine motor skills.

Colton is also growing like a weed.  He is 26 lbs (5th percentile) and 36 inches tall (17th percentile).  He is a little peanut but he steadily grows on the growth chart.  He is just going to be little but that's ok.  He is exactly the way God made him and our love for him is so BIG!

He is hitting all his milestones too.  His gross motor skills continue to grow.  Dr. H recommended we hold off on potty training until we are moved and settled him.  Normally I would potty train him right now but with the impending move we are going to hold off and wait.

We are so proud of the boys and so thankful for healthy and happy kiddos.  We are SO blessed.  I don't go a single day without thanking the Lord for blessing us beyond measure!

Fourth of July 2014

We had a great 4th of July Weekend!  Friday we went to the Firecracker Festival in downtown Loveland.  Our little town of Loveland is so charming and fun.  They have cute little restaurants and always fun things for the holidays.  The boys were so excited about hot dogs and bouncy houses.

Matt has been studying basically nonstop but he took some time on the 4th to hang out with our little family.  We miss him so much when he's away but we are so proud of him.  Only six more weeks of studying til his last exam.  Whew!  We can make it!

We found the Mott family and the Gleason's.  Ryan and Colton love Drew, Zach and Bret.  They think the older boys are so funny!  These boys are so wild and crazy when they get together.  They really have the best time hanging out.

The boys loved having a picnic and eating hot dogs in the park.  They played and played on the many bouncy houses then we all got snow cones.  It was a fun fun day and we had a blast celebrating our countries freedom.

One of the highlights of the parade was the big monster truck.  Ryan and Colton's eyes got SO big when they saw this truck coming down the street.  The other big hit was the Loveland firetruck of course.

We ended the night by watching the Loveland fireworks from our driveway.  We made it home from the parade and gave the boys baths then went out to watch the firework show.  They loved it and ooh'd and ahhh'd with us.  It was a great ending to an awesome day.

BIG NEWS!!

 BIG NEWS!!!!!!

As most of you know my hubs Matt went back to school last year to get his Masters in Accounting.  He graduated in April and is in the process of taking the CPA exam over the summer.  It's four parts and he takes one part each month until his last exam on Aug. 18.

We have had our sights on moving to Nashville (at least I have) for some time now.  Matt has been working with several head hunters down there but they are looking to place people right away but Matt would not start until late August.

After much thought and LOTS of prayer we have decided to move to Nashville in late August.  We have faith that Matt will either have a job by the time we move or will find one shortly thereafter.  It's always easier to find a job when you are in the city you want to be in and not looking from afar.

I went down to Nashville last week to look for houses and we put a contract on a house, yay!!!  Our house here went on the market earlier this week.  We are praying that our house will sell QUICKLY!  We have worked so hard getting the house ready.  It looks so great and just as good as when we bought it seven years ago.

We are so excited for this new adventure.  It has been super crazy around here the last month but we are looking forward to whatever God has in store for us.

Happy July

This is pretty much how we are spending the summer!!!  The boys LOVE and beg to go to the pool daily.  Thankfully the pool is at the gym we go early to workout then head out to the pool after my workout.  We pack a lunch, spend a few hours swimming then come home worn out and take amazing naps!

They are doing awesome in the water since beginning swim lessons.  Colton is getting more comfortable in the water.  We are still working on putting his head and face in the water but he loves to play in the water and kick his legs.

Ryan has come so far since last summer.  He jumps and goes underwater and swims to the edge like he's done it his whole life.  He's like a fish out of water in the water.  I'm so proud of him and he's swimming farther distance every week.
