Myrtle Beach Vacation Part 1 of 2

We had such a wonderful vacation last week in Myrtle Beach. Myrtle Beach was not our first choice for vacation. It just so happened that we had planned and made reservations to go to Gulf Shores. Unfortunately, with the oil spill in the gulf we were worried so we changed to Myrtle Beach, SC. I knew it wouldn't be the same as the gulf but all I wanted was a nice condo, a beach, a pool and good places to eat. MB took care of all of those amenities.
We headed out Friday afternoon around 4:30 when Matt got home from work. We planned to drive about 4 hours and stay the night in Knox/Sevierville. We stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner and to stretch our legs. I LOVE Cracker Barrel!!!! Ryan was good and he even ate some carrots for dinner. I snuck little pieces of carrots into his applesauce and he actually ate it. I was one proud momma!
Ryan's first stay in a hotel room. He did awesome! He was fast asleep in the car when we got to the hotel. We got to our room and he was WIDE awake. We got ready for bed and he fell right to sleep. Praise the Lord this kid sleeps so well!!!
On the way to MB. He took a great nap in the car pretty early. He's such a good traveler.
Our friends from Florida Adam, Katie and Lillian Grace vacationed with us in MB. Lillian Grace is two months younger than Ryan. She is so tiny. Ryan towered over her, ha! They shared a bath together but Lillian Grace hates the bath so it was very short lived.
Lillian Grace is just so sweet. She is so calm and just a doll. Ryan on the other hand is all boy and always getting into something. Matt says when you look at him and he just looks like trouble, ha!
These two love to suck their thumbs, ha!!! Ryan learning to play the piano! Hope he takes after his momma and love piano playing.
Lillian Grace ready for the beach. You might think since she's from Florida that she would be used to and like the beach but not so much. She didn't like it much the first day but she warmed up to it by the end of the week! Isn't she so cute?
Ryan wasn't so sure about the beach either but he warmed up to it very quickly. Here he is trying some sand, gross. Nope, tastes yucky. He never tried to eat it again, ha! I knew that would happen, ha!
The first day we didn't last long at the beach so we moved on to the pool.
They had a one foot baby pool that was perfect for the kiddos. They loved it and had a blast!
They had so much fun and were exhausted by the end of the day and just crashed.

During naptime Katie and I would go down to the pool to lay out and relax. It was soooo nice! We did that many days!
Ryan is completely fearless when it comes to water. He is such a water baby. We tried the beach again on Monday morning. Ryan had a much better time the second go around.
He loved playing with his bucket and shovel!
It was a totally different beach vacation for us. There was no sitting down and relaxing and reading a book. Ryan is so quick, all our focus was completely on him. We wouldn't have it any other way! I'm so glad that he loves the beach just like his momma and daddy.

I've Been ...

On vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC for the last week!!!!

We figured for safety sake it wouldn't be a good idea to blog that we were out of town for a week. It was nice to have vacation from technology! Now that we are home I can share about our trip.
Ryan had such a great time at the beach. He LOVED the sand and the water...just like his parents!
Today we spent most of the day catching up on laundry, mail, everything else. Over the next few days I will be doing a vaca recap. I want to document Ryan's first vacation and trip to the beach!!!
(Our family pics in the post are not the best quality because the camera fogged up really bad once we stepped outside into the humidity, but I just loved these pics of our family.)

Day in the Life

Today has been a day full of playing and running errands! Ryan loves to play and get into everything! He took three steps today from the couch to the chair!
I believe he has officially dropped his morning nap. The last few days I haven't put him down for a morning nap and he's done great. Hasn't acted tired or fussed at all. I put him down around 1 for his afternoon nap and he sleeps for about 3 hours. I will say I like having more time to run errands in the morning and get stuff done outside the house. Another plus is he goes to bed earlier since he gets up earlier from his nap.
This afternoon when Matt came home from work he watched Ryan so I could get a pedicure! So blessed to have such a wonderful husband! The color I picked was a little brighter pink than I usually choose but it it looks good! It was so nice to get pampered!!!
Hope you had a great Thursday!

Music to a Momma's Ears

Ryan started saying momma yesterday. It is absolutely music to my ears! His favorite word has been dada for the longest time. He will crawl to me when I'm cooking in the kitchen and say mommoma and want me to pick him up. It doesn't get any better than that. I love hearing him say momma!
Today we tried one nap today and Ryan did pretty well. Obviously we have done this before but on a normal basis he takes two naps. I had some errands to do this morning then we grabbed lunch with Anissa and Elizabeth. Ryan was great but I'm thinking he probably needs to go down for nap around 1pm. He slept from 1:30-4 today.
It is still so hot here we have been enjoying lots of playtime inside!
Ryan is sooooo close to walking. He has been standing unassisted alot more and will even take one to two steps at a time. He takes a step from the couch to the chair or to the coffee table. He loves to stand up and walk around things. He will be walking any day now!
Ryan is such a little ham! He is all boy... he loves to throw things right now. When I go to put food on his tray he will try to put the food back on the plate or in the bowl. It's so funny until he tries to throw the food on the floor. Thank goodness for two little vacuums we call Annabelle and Gracie, ha!
I am so blessed to be this little cutie's mom and stay home with him everyday!

Monday

I have really loved going to the gym on Monday and Wednesday morning for my workout. I do a cardio resistence class and can really push myself and get an awesome workout. This morning I almost threw up (the real test of a great workout) but I pushed on. The time works out great for us because we get to the gym at 9:30, put Ryan in the daycare and I'm done at 10:45. We rush home and I put Ryan down a little after 11 for his nap. On days we don't go to the gym he goes down around 10:30.
For the past week now he goes down well in the morning and sleeps at least an hour. The afternoon nap has been different this past week. He used to sleep at least 2 hours in the afternoon but for the past week he's only slept about an hour. I'm beginning to think he might be ready to drop a nap. Part of me wants him to drop a nap so we have more time to be out but on the flip side I like being able to get things done during his naps.
Ryan LOVES his stuffed animals right now. This morning when I went to get him I put his monkey back in his crib and he wanted to hold him and didn't want out yet, ha! Such a silly boy!

And who is going to watch The Bachelor Pad on ABC tonight????

Former bachelors and bachelorettes compete for money as they all move into the bachelor mansion. It promises to be filled with lots of drama!

TGIF

Thank goodness it's Friday because I am worn out. This little mess below is a hand full! We went to the pool today and Ryan had a blast. This afternoon he has been getting into everything, especially everything he's not suppose to. Oh the joys of motherhood!

Ryan has been coughing off and on today and I'm worried he might be getting sick. boo! Tonight I started giving Ryan his dinner and he flipped out...big time, so Matt took him downstairs to chill out. He came back up to eat dinner and would only eat bread. I was honestly just glad he was eating and not screaming. After about 15 min of eating bread he finally decided to eat his ziti and he couldn't get enough of it. I'm glad he ate a good dinner and went to bed happy boy.

I'm looking forward to a low key, relaxing weekend with my boys! What are your plans for the weekend?
