Day at the zoo

We went to the zoo today with our friends Anissa and Elizabeth and Ruth and Nicholas. It was a warm day, maybe the warmest so far this year. We had a great time and the babies loved it. I feel like Ryan is quickly moving from the baby stage to toddler. He turns 10 months old today! I can hardly believe it! Only 2 months away from being a year old. I will have his 10 month post up tomorrow!
They had the most beautiful flowers at the zoo. I wish my yard could look like that. So pretty we had to get a pic of the kids in front of the flowers.
Giraffes are one of my favorite animal to see at the zoo. They are so pretty and so interesting.
The high today got up to 90 degrees. Within about 15 min. I was already a hot mess, ha! This was Ryan checking out the polar bears. I think he was more interested in his thumb. He does great in the stroller, as long as he can't see me. If he sees me he reaches out his hands and wants me to pick him up.
Here's Elizabeth chillin out. She's a cutie pie with the sweetest smile.
And cute little Nicholas. I love hanging out with these girls and can't wait to watch the babies start really interacting. They will be best buds. Even though we love hanging out with our kids we decided today we need a ladies night out. A night out where we can relax and chat with each other without our attention focused on our kids.

Running update: I am proud to say that I woke up this morning at 7am and ran 3 miles. Woohoo! It's been a long time since I woke up early to workout. My girlfriends told me today that they can really tell I've lost weight. Totally lifted my spirits and made me feels so good. And now I'm even more motivated to keep working out hard.

Randomness

I tried to take some pics of Ryan today but unfortunately this is what most of my pictures looked like! HA! He doesn't sit still very long. He is one busy little 10 month old!
We had a great day. We went to the gym this morning and Ryan took a little nap when we got home. I was glad he got some rest and I got to enjoy my lunch.
After his nap and a shower we headed over to Target to return a few things. We shopped a little then came home for nap #2. He only slept for about an hour and half but I was able to get some housework done and even sit in the quiet and read some Beth Moore "So Long Insecurity". I got my hair cut tonight. I love a fresh haircut. You just feel lighter.
And now I need a little accountability. I'm going to get up early tomorrow morning before Ryan wakes and workout. We are planning a trip to the zoo so I know I probably won't get a chance to workout if I don't get up early. I'm going to pray that God will wake me up refreshed and ready to start the day.
Speaking of running...I've just about decided that I'm going to sign up for the Flying Pig 10k race. It's a huge marathon here in Cincy but they also have a 5k and 10k. I told Matt I thought about doing the 5K but he thinks I should really do the 10k. I pretty much run 3 miles walk 1 mile 4 days a week. I believe I can do it, no, I KNOW I can do it!

Thankful

Today I am thankful for this sweet blessing!

Typical Monday

Monday is typically our laid back, slow day. I decided to take Ryan to the park to just get out of the house. He is just getting more handsome every day. I can't believe how fast he is growing up. Hard to believe he will be 10 months in just a few short days. I feel like we are moving from having a baby to a toddler.
We had a great time at the park and enjoyed the warm sun. I haven't been putting bibs on Ryan as much lately. He still spits up but only 5-6 times a day on average. I'm praying for the day he doesn't spit up at all. I HATE putting bibs on him especially with him getting older. He is such a good baby I truly have nothing to complain about.
I've been watching Dancing with the Stars this season. I haven't watched much in the past but I like the cast this time around. My favorite is Erin Andrews. She is a sports reporter for ESPN. Love her and she's a fellow ZTA. Matt has actually been watching a little as well. I know, not the show you would think he would watch but Cincinnati Bengals Chad Ochocinco is dancing. Are you watching DWTS?

Swingin Around

It was such a beautiful day today! It seemed like a sin to stay inside when it was just gorgeous outside. After church and lunch we took Ryan to a nearby park. They have a great playground, river nearby and walking/bike trail. And the best part is it's just 5 min. from our house.
We put Ryan in the baby swing and he loved it! He really enjoys swinging. We are going to be visiting the park alot this summer. After swinging for a little bit we walked over to a local candy/ice cream shop. They have every candy imaginable. Old nostalgic candy to fun jelly bellies. You name it, they have it. We love candy and sweets so we were in heaven. We got a few pieces of candy and some homemade ice cream. Ryan even tried a little. He loved it!
After Ryan's afternoon nap we took another walk around the neighborhood. We are loving this spring weather. It's supposed to be beautiful the next 4-5 days. We can't wait to get out and enjoy them!

A Few Firsts

On Friday we went to Ryan's first music class. I want Ryan to interact with other babies and it's great for us to get out of the house. The class meets every Friday for 10 weeks. There are two other boys in the class just a little older than him. His girlfriend Elizabeth is in the class as well. At one point their eyes were locked on each other and they were totally babbling and "talking" to each other. It was the cutest thing ever. We played with rattles, drums and sang songs. It was alot of fun and we can't wait to go back next week!
Today was Ryan's first swim class! He loves the water and just has a ball! He is by far the youngest in the class but he loved watching the other kids swim and play in the water. The other kids are around 18 months-2 years old.
Ryan plays so well in the water and loves to splash. One of the first things we learned was how to teach him to swim or paddle over to the side and put their arms up on the ledge to get out. We learned some great tips and techniques. The best part is Matt comes too. I loved watching them interact. Right now Ryan is a total momma's boy but he LOVES his Daddy!
We've had a great weekend. This afternoon I got my closets switched for the season and I'm so excited and ready for summer. Now I just need to work on Ryan's closet. Hope to check that off my list tomorrow.

A few things that make me happy!

I love this time of year. I love the bradford pears and cheery trees blooming. I love the tulips and daffodils sprouting from the ground. It's such a warm welcome after a long cold winter. The only thing I don't like about this time of year is allergies, auchoo!
I ordered these flip flops yesterday in black and brown. They are from Victoria Secret. I LOVE flip flops. You can dress them up or just slip em on to go to the store.
I order these cute sandals as well in black and gold. I think they will be cute with capris or shorts. I hope they are as comfortable as they are cute!
It's been a somewhat tough week. Ryan has been out of sorts the last few days. I think it might be his teeth but I'm ready for my happy smiley baby to be back. He took a good nap this afternoon so we headed out to sonic just before happy hour ended.
We swung by Target while we were out and Ryan was great. He chatted the whole time. We are looking forward to a fun laid back weekend! The weather is going to be gorgeous and I hope we get out to enjoy it!
