Sydney's Birthday

A planned induction is a funny thing.  It was so wild knowing Thursday that it was the last day of my pregnancy and we would be welcoming a sweet daughter on Friday.

We got up bright and early Friday morning and headed to the hospital at 5AM!  Such a great feeling not stressing or rushing around to make it to the hospital because you were in labor.  We checked in and made it to our room by 6:00.  They started my IV and got my pitocin going.  I was only 2cm when we checked in and she was still pretty high.

By 8am my contractions had picked up but they had not broken my water or gotten the epidural.  There was a scheduled c-section at 8:30 so my doctor came around 9:30 to break my water.  I got my epidural around 10 and got some pain relief.  At 11:00 my nurse checked me and I was about 3cm and half way thinned out.  I was a little discouraged and thought it was going to be a lot longer.

I sent Matt downstairs to get some lunch around 12:30!  My nurse came in during that time and checked me.  I was fully dilated and ready to start pushing.  She started getting the room ready and told the doctor "don't go far".  Matt came back and was shocked when I told him it was time, ha!

The doctor came in around 11:00 and it was go time.  I pushed about four times and then Sydney Deborah entered our world and captured our hearts.  It was so surreal that she was actually here and healthy and perfect!

We are over the moon in love with her!  She has quickly wrapped us around her little finger!  She is so sweet and such a precious little bundle of joy!  We could not be more thrilled and overwhelmed with God's amazing blessing.

Spring Break 2015

The boys are on spring break this week and we've been busy making memories and enjoying some fun times.  These two cute pies before church on Sunday!  I could just eat them up!

On Monday I took the boys to get haircuts then I had my 39 week appointment.  I am almost 2cm dilated.  My dr said I am a great candidate for an induction.  We went over the instructions and procedures for my induction on Friday morning.  As of right now she is staying put and I've only had a few painful contractions and lots of braxton hicks the last few days.

After the doctor I took the boys to the zoo. It was our first time at the Nashville zoo and I think all of Williamson county was there.  When you have amazing zoo's like Cincinnati and Columbus you have great expectations for an awesome zoo but Nashville zoo is small and not as nice as Cincy, Cbus or Memphis!

We met up with some of Ryan's preschool friends at the zoo.  The boys had the best time playing and seeing his friends.  It was a good day!  We all came home and crashed on the couch.

On Tuesday I took the boys to Opry Mills Mall to visit the Lego Store and eat lunch at the Rainforest Cafe.  I knew the boys would love it and think it was such a treat.

I think the Lego Store was the big hit of the day.  They oohed and ahed over everything in the store.

They enjoyed the Rainforest Cafe at lunch.  We got to sit by the fish aquarium and they thought it was the coolest thing.  They got a little disturbed when the animals started moving but it was all good and we enjoyed a good lunch.

And bonus: I racked up on some awesome deals for the boys at Gymboree Outlet!

Lastly, here are some outtakes from our photos on Sunday morning!  These boys keep me busy and crack me up!  I can't imagine it any other way!

Wrapping up our week

The boys had "ugly bug week" at school all week.  They learned about all kinds of bugs then they ended the week with a "bug ball" parade.  I was really stressing about making and coming up with a costume this week...until I came across BED BUG on Pinterest!  Lord, save me!!!  This super pregnant woman did not want to go crafting and shopping for a bug costume.  Thank the Lord both the boys were excited to go as Bed Bugs!

Thursday was my last kid free day for a long time, and I'm totally ok with that.  Blessed and thankful for every second of this pregnancy.

Every girl needs a little pampering before it's time for a new baby.  I absolutely love a spa day and it felt SO good to relax and get a pedicure and brow wax.  So thankful for this "me" time before we meet baby Sydney next week!!!!  EEEEEEEKK!!!!!

The boys have spring break next week so I've been thinking and planning some fun things for us to do before their whole world changes.  I'm looking forward to spending some sweet time with just my boys next week!

My other adorable "ugly bug" today ready for school!

Ryan and the rest of his class!  They all looked so cute and buggy!  My boys have been so cute and so sweet.  They have been so great about allowing me time to rest and haven't been too demanding, ha!  They are so excited to meet their sister and get so excited when we talk about it!  I dream about and cannot wait to see them meet their baby sister for the first time.

38 Weeks

I had my 38 week appointment yesterday!  Things are getting serious around here!  I've been feeling lots of movement and lots of pressure very low.  I get those sharp twinges down low and it feels like she is going to claw her way out.  I am not sleeping great these days, between getting up a couple times to go potty and not being able to get comfortable, I am so tired and not really sleeping.

I'm pretty uncomfortable at 38 weeks.  We have a planned induction for next friday, March 20 and I hope she stays put until then.  My parents will be here the day before to take care of the boys and with a date on the calendar Matt can work around his work schedule.  Plus with baby #3 we want to make sure we make it to the hospital.

Baby Sydney checked out great with a great heartbeat and I'm dilated 1cm.  Hopefully baby girl will stay put until next Friday =)  I know I will miss feeling her move inside my belly once she is born.  It's really the best part of pregnancy.  I know Matt is getting tired of me complaining about being uncomfortable and I'm so ready to be done with this pregnancy and hold our sweet baby girl.   I'm SO thankful for this pregnancy and trying to enjoy it to the very end.

What's Up?

I know, I know, where have I been???  Goodness it's been boring and busy all at the same time!  So where do I start?

1.  Painting the nursery
We finally got the nursery painted!!!  We only waited until the ninth month, haha!  Our amazing builder recommended a painter and they were able to paint the whole room in just 3 hours.  Seriously?!?  It would have taken me a week to paint it.

The color is Sherwin Williams Aquatint and it turned out so pretty!  It looks fantastic and I can't wait to see it with the white drapes and colorful bedding.  The picture above is a sample of the bedding fabric.  It's still not ready yet but hoping it will be shipped this week! =)

This is also her wooden monogram that will hang above her crib.  I LOVE the pink on the aqua walls.

2. Nesting
I am totally nesting around here.  I'm been working on Sydney's room and organizing all her stuff.  Here beautiful furniture arrived on Friday and I LOVE it!  I LOVE LOVE LOVE the white with the aqua and pink.  It's so fresh and pretty.

She is going to be camping out in our bedroom for a good while since our room is downstairs and hers is upstairs.  Even though she won't be sleeping in her room starting out, I still have wanted to organize things and put things in their place.  Her room is coming together, I can't wait to see it finished.

3. Snow Days
Blah!!!  I sure hope this snow storm we got last week (about 3 inches) is the last one for the year!  School was cancelled Thursday and Friday, womb womb!  We did get out Friday and the roads were almost dry.  Thankfully the snow is all gone and it's only suppose to rain this week with temps in the 50's/60's!  Hallelujah!!!  We are looking forward to a full week of school before the boys are out on Spring Break next week!

4. The boys
The biggest boy has been super busy at work!  He is working so hard - only about five more weeks of busy season then he can breathe.  He worked both Saturday and Sunday and won't have a day off until the baby is here.  Bless him!  He is so amazing and we appreciate all the hard work that he is doing.

The boys have been awesome and real troopers dealing with their waddling-slow moving-almost 38 week preggers-momma!  Last week we made a paper chain to count down til baby Sydney arrives.  We also made a paper chain to count down to our beach vacation.  Oh yes we did.  It's only eighty something days aways, ha, but this way the boys don't ask daily when we are going to the beach.  We are so excited about the beach and cannot wait!!!

I'm obviously moving slow and spending a lot of time on the couch.  The boys have been so good and really sweet.  They are so excited to meet their baby sister.  We cannot wait to meet this sweet little lady.   I cannot wait to see them meet her and see their reaction to their new baby sister.  Such a sweet, sweet time in our lives and I can hardly sleep I'm so anxious, excited, and thankful!!!

5. Gracie
I mentioned before that our sweet eight year old dachshund Gracie has recently become blind.  We took her to the vet, who confirmed her vision loss and referred us to a vet ophthalmologist to find out why she's blind.  We had her op visit this morning.  I didn't sleep great and prayed all night and this morning that she would be ok and that we would receive good news.

After lots of tests and examinations the vet determined that Gracie has SARDS which stands for Sudden acquired retinal degeneration.  It's characterized by sudden loss of vision.  It affects the retina, the part of the eye that helps you see.  Symptoms typically are vision loss with widely dilated pupils and no other obvious ocular abnormalities.

Honestly this is the best case senario.  We were so worried it could be cancer, cataracts or a tumor causing her vision loss.  Thankfully, she does not have any discomfort or pain and this should not shorten her life span.  She and us will just have to learn how to deal with a dog with vision loss.

The vet sent us home with info on SARDS and tips for living with visually impaired dogs.  I was glad to hear it's helpful we have another dog.  Annabelle will kinda act as her guide!  We love our four legged babies.  They are such a big part of our family.  I feel so relieved knowing what's going on and can give her the best life we can.

We were at the eye dr. from 10-1.  The boys did awesome and enjoyed playing with some "new" toys in the waiting room!  They did really good and only got restless right before leaving.

Happy Birthday Dad!

 Happy Birthday Dad!

My dad celebrated his birthday on sunday March 1st.  We face timed with my parents and wished him a very happy birthday.  We can't wait to see him in a couple of weeks!  He's been sick the last few weeks but looks like he is starting to finally feel better.  We want him well for when Sydney gets here.

My dad is the most giving and selfless person I know.  I am so lucky to have such a wonderful daddy!  He is an even better Grandad.  I love seeing him be Grandad to my boys.
Happy Birthday Dad, we love you!
