The Venetian offers gondola rides, just like in real Italy!
We didn't get to do it, maybe next time.

Las Vegas - Day Three

Day Three we visited The Venetian and The Mirage. We also went to dinner with Matt's Aunt Teresa's sister Brenda, her husband James and daughter Erin, who live out in Vegas. They are distant relatives but we were so excited and grateful to have some family to visit with on our trip. They picked us up on Monday night and we headed east of the stip. We ate at Lucille's BBQ! We all know I never turn down BBQ! This time was no exception! It was super great and my favorite part was we drank out of mason jars! Reminded me of my grandparents who always drank out of mason jars! We also visited Green Valley Ranch were the show American Casino was filmed. It was a very nice casino. Lots of locals go there since it's off the strip!

This was Matt's dinner at Lucille's. These were the biggest ribs I had ever seen in my life. He wasn't able to finish them so we sent them home with Brenda and her fam.

The famous "Welcome to Las Vegas Sign". Honestly, we never would have found this sign if it wasn't for Brenda, James and Erin. Thanks guys! They were gracious enough to stop and let us take a pic after dinner.

As you can see, it was hotter than hades in Vegas all week!!! During the day it was basically unbearable with the sun beating down. We stayed indoors mostly during the day. At night it would cool down to the 90's which was alot more bearable! We loved staying up late and sleeping late! Just our kinda schedule!

Las Vegas - Day Two

Our second day in Vegas we went to the Rio to see Penn & Teller.  It was awesome!  We loved it and would love to see it again!  It's amazing how they do all those tricks!  Pretty Neat!

Las Vegas - Day One

Matt and I had an awesome time in Las Vegas last week!  We weren't ready to come home but we definitely want to go back.  Our hotel, the TI, was fabulous and I would definitely recommend it to anyone traveling to Vegas.  It had a great location and good accommodations. Our first night in Vegas consisted of eating at the TI buffet!  It was sooo good.  My fav was the mini-doughnuts!  After dinner we hit the casino floor at the TI.
Just in case you forget where the Casino is,
it's in HUGE letters in the elevator!

Busy and Exhausting Week

I know you are all eagerly awaiting pics of our awesome trip to Las Vegas!  I had to wait for Matt to name all the 300 pics before I could load them on my computer.  Also, Matt's Grandfather sadly passed away Saturday night so we have been super busy this week with family.  Please keep Matt and his family in your prayers as he will dearly miss his sweet Grandpa.

I promise to post pics VERY soon, so stay tuned!

Grill out and more cakes!

Sunday we had a grill out/game night at our house with our small group from church.  We had a great time!  Lots of great grilling food and good times!  The Wii was a big hit!  The guys spent most of the night outside playing cornhole!  Sorry, no pics from cornhole!
Mike & Laura boxing on the Wii
Sarah and Travis boxing it out!

We had our 4th cake decorating class on Monday night.  We learned drop flowers, clowns, faces, fruit and more of the wilton rose!  Here are some of my favorites from class!  I was amazed at how easy it was to make the clown.  I like the flowers, they are fun to make!  We have our last class this coming Monday night however Matt and I will be in Las Vegas on vacation so I will have to make it up later!

I took cupcakes to class on Monday night so I just made a regular 9 in. round cake with the rest of the cake batter.  I decided I would decorate it and take it to work this week!  The flower design was in our book and I loved it.  It was supposed to have a border on the bottom but I forgot to do it, oops!  This is officially my 2nd decorated cake!

DogFest and 1st Cake

This past Saturday we took Annabelle and Gracie to Dogfest in West Chester.  It was fun seeing the hundreds of different dogs!  I think the girls had a great time too and let's just say there was alot of butt sniffing going on!  It was really hot but a lot of fun!

We entered the girls in the Milk-bone SpokesDog Contest!  See milk-bone.com for more info!  Don't you think they should be on the front of the Milk-bone box?

My cake class is going really well!  I LOVE it!  I spent Sunday afternoon preparing for class on Monday night!  Boy it took for a long time to get all my icings together with the right consistency.  We started our first cake on Monday and I finished it yesterday!  We have now learned the star, squiggles, letters and the first part of the rose.  The letters will take some work since you need a really steady hand for.  Below is my first real cake done with the star and squiggles.  (I almost don't want to cut it b/c I'm so proud)
