We traveled to Nashville on Thursday! We stayed with my friend Courtney and her husband Phil. They have two adorable girls, Gentry - 3 and Grayleigh - 19 months. We got there Friday night and got all settled.
We got up early Friday and loaded up the kids for a fun day! We went to the Nashville library downtown to see a puppet show. They have a really cool Children's Theatre. The play was a little weird but the kids loved it.
After the library we headed to Loveless Cafe for lunch! We had to wait a little bit but I knew it was going to be worth it. And oh boy was it worth it.
Gentry and Ryan. Loveless Cafe is known for their homemade biscuits. They were out of this world. Totally melt in your mouth goodness. My mouth is watering just thinking about them right now.
Sweet Greyleigh. She is the cutest thing!
I had the fried chicken, green beans and mac n cheese! It was delicious and SOOOO good! The kids did great and enjoyed it too!
Saturday we got up and headed to Dickens Christmas in downtown Franklin! I love downtown Franklin. It's the cutest town square. It was a drizzling and soagy. Ugh but it was fun and the kids enjoyed walking around.
From Dickens Christmas we headed to Leper's Fork for the parade. We ate lunch at the original puckets. It was yummy and we were ready to watch the parade.
It was the funnest parade. The kids loved it. They loved the band, the horses and the tractors.
We went to church with Courtney and Phil Sunday morning. After church we headed to lunch at this place called Dotson's in downtown Franklin. It was some delicious southern goodness! I ordered the catfish with hushpuppies and it was amazing! I got so stuffed and wish I could have finished it. They had all these homemade pies with merirgue a mile high. I took a slice of the chocolate meringue to go and ate it on the way home. It was seriously the best chocolate pic i've ever tasted!
We had the best weekend with Courtney, Phil and the girls! Such a fun weekend! They were great hostesses and we can't wait to visit them again.
Matt and Phil
