Number Three

We've been keeping a little secret around here!

We are thrilled and blessed to be excepting baby Deepe #3!!!

We are excited for this little baby to join our family in March 2015!

The boys are so thrilled and Matt and I are beyond grateful and feel so blessed.  I'm 14 weeks right now and feeling great.  I'm glad to not be so tired all the time.

We found out the exciting news in July but with the move and the miscarriage in January we were optimistically cautious and kept the news to ourselves until I reached the end of the first trimester.

So just another big thing going on in the Deepe family!  It's amazing how God is working and we are overwhelmed with gratitude!

Potty Training 201

This past weekend was the big 3day potty training for Colton.  He has been ready for months but we held off because of the move.  Our pediatrician recommended waiting til after we move and get settled before potty training.   We do the 3day potty training method around here.  Basically it's no diapers and big boy undies cold turkey.  You get rid of all diapers and talk it up big time about being a big boy using the big boy potty.  You encourage your little one to stay dry and tell them "you tell mommy when you need to go potty".

Colton and I went to Target on Friday and picked out some big boy undies and I talked it up real big with him.  He was so excited and insists that he is a big boy.

We started out Saturday morning great.  After a couple hours playing Colton started crying and fussing all of a sudden saying "potty, pee pee, pee pee" (he went pee pee in his pants) so we rushed to the potty and changed him.  He didn't have another accident until Sunday afternoon.  He did great telling me when he had to go and going right away.

Sunday afternoon he did have a #2 accident and freaked out.  I know with Ryan it took a little longer with #2.  I think it was about a month.  I except Colton to be the same.  For some reason they just have this fear of going #2 on the potty but hopefully he catches on soon.

I was nervous this morning sending Colton to school for four hours so newly potty trained.  I packed 2 extra undies and pants just in case.  I told him all morning that if he stayed dry all day and didn't have any accidents that we would celebrate with ice cream after school.  Sure enough when I picked him up he was still in the same outfit!  SCORE!!!  So so so proud of him.  We are still doing a pull up at nap and bedtime but he has woken up dry every time except once since saturday.

We are so proud of him and so glad things are going well in the potty training department.  I was honestly dreading it and even though I knew C was ready I was not looking forward to the whole process.  Of course there have been a few accidents but I wholeheartedly believe in the 3day method and waiting until your child is ready (usually 3 yrs old for boys).  So proud of him and excited to be a diaper free home.

A Little Home Tour

I thought I would take today and show a few snip-its from our new house.  I love, love, love our new house.  It's honestly everything on my wish list and my dream home.  I loved everything from the floor plan to the paint colors to all the finishes.
We ordered this rug shortly after we moved in and it finally came this weekend.  I LOVE it!  The colors are perfect and I love how it has some gray that ties in with other grays in the house.

I love our entryway.  I just got this rug last week from Target and I think it fits the area perfect.  The table and lamps were in our old house.  Love our double front doors.  I am on the hunt for two fall wreaths.

This are was on my wish list and I'm so glad this house has a spacious drop zone right inside the back garage door.  The boys put their shoes in the basket on the bottom and hang up their backpacks when they get home from school.

I am still in awe of this huge master closet.  It's funny we can't even fill up half the closet.   Our old closet was maybe 1/3 the size of this one.  It's full of shelves on three sides for shoes and sweaters.

This is our master suite.  It's hard to get a good picture from a good angle.  We have the same furniture and bedding but hopefully we will be updating to a king size bed in the somewhat near future.  I did get new side table lamps and I love them.  I will have to showcase our master bath next time.

Week of Firsts

This is a big week around here with a lot of firsts and new beginnings.  Closing on our first house, beginning this new chapter of our lives Nashville and today was Matt's first day at his new job.

He headed out bright and early to get his workout in before heading to the office.  It's hard to believe he hasn't been in a corporate job in almost 2 years.  He said it was a little overwhelming with so much to learn but I'm sure he will settle in quickly.

The boys were so excited to see daddy when he got home!

One Chapter Closes and Another Starts

This past weekend we traveled to Cincinnati.  We had a few things to finish on the house before we closed yesterday.  We picked up Ryan from school on Friday and headed north.  It's such an easy drive.  We made it in 4.5 hours.

Our first stop for dinner was our favorite - Copper Blue in Milford!  Yum, yum!

Saturday we got up and headed to the house early so Matt could get to work on taking down the swing set in the backyard.  That was the only thing the owners asked for in the contract.  Thankfully we have some friends with a sweet 18 month old who wanted the swing set.  Awesome!  Done!  Our friend and neighbor helped Matt on Saturday.

The boys and I headed down to Josh and Jake's house to hang out and see them.  They boys had the best time and loved seeing their friends.  I loved getting to catch up with Melanie!

Saturday night I went out with my girlfriends while Matt took the boys to Skyline.  Win win for everyone!

Sunday we went to church then met up with the Krafts for lunch.  The boys were so excited to see the Kraft girls.  Ryan had been asking for days when was he going to see Jillian.

Of course no outings with the Krafts is complete without going to Menchie's for ice cream.

Love these two cutie pies.  They are missing each other but so glad they got to hang out.

Sunday night we got to hang out with the Gleason's.  We love, love, love them and we all had the best time hanging out and playing with them.  Ryan's best buddy is Bret and he was so excited to see him. They picked up right where they left off and had the best time playing together.  Matt and I enjoyed catching up with Kevin and Jennifer as well.  It was a great day and night.  We are so blessed with some great friends.

Our closing was scheduled for Monday afternoon.  In the morning we went to Lifetime (boy do we miss our old gym.  The Y doesn't even compare).  And of course we had to do lunch at CFA with friends.  Good times!

Our closing went so smooth and we are thrilled about the new owners of our home in Loveland.  An actual local celebrity bought our home.  Ken Broo, who does the sports on channel 9, bought our home.  Matt has been watching him since he was a little boy.  Kinda wild and cool to think he will be living in our old home.

We have officially closed a chapter of our lives.  We no longer own a home in Ohio and the chapter of our lives living in Cincy is closed.  Now it's on to the next chapter.  Even though we have been here for three weeks it really feels like a new chapter.   We are settling in well and we really love it here!  So excited for this new chapter!

Troubleshooting

I had plans to blog on Friday and this past Monday but unfortunately our cable and internet were down all weekend until this afternoon.  Frustrating was an understatement.  We missed all our football games.  Boo!!!  We battled with AT&T U-verse to find the problem and get the right technician to fix it.  It was a fiasco to say the least.  Thankfully we are back up and running!

Saturday Ryan had his first soccer game of the season.  It was H-O-T!!!  Even though it was 10am it was roasty toasty.  He was so excited!  Ryan did well but sadly his team didn't win but they all played so well.  Way to go Blue Racers.

The boys finished up a great first week of school.  They both love their new school and are adjusting great to our new schedule.

I also started my new MOPS group.  I am so looking forward to meeting some new fiends here and plugging in.  I LOVED the group and think it's going to be great.  Everyone was warm and friendly.  They had a pool party on Friday that Colton and I went to.  It was fun!  Colton had a blast and I enjoyed meeting so many moms.

Such a great week and here's to another good week.

First Day of School

Today was the first day of school for the boys!!!  They were super excited about their new school and couldn't wait to go to school!

I couldn't decide on these two pictures so I'm just posting both, ha!

Ryan is in Pre-K 5's class.  There are 9 boys and 2 girls.  That's just how it is with summer birthday kiddos.  Most of the kids in his class have april to september birthdays.  He will go to school four days a week from 9-1pm.  He eats lunch every day at school.

Colton was so excited to go to school like his big brother.  I'm so glad they are both in the same school this year.  Makes my heart happy....plus it's pretty convenient.   Colton has two wonderful and sweet teachers and I know he is just going to thrive this year.  He goes 2 days a week from 9-1pm.

Matt doesn't start his job for a couple of weeks so we were excited he could come to school and see the boys off on their first day.   The boys wouldn't take a picture together but they agreed if daddy joined in.

Colton walked in like he owned the place.  He went right down the hall to his class.  He was a little hesitant to walk in but that only lasted about 2 seconds.

He quickly went in and hung up his backpack.

He gave mommy, Ryan and daddy hugs and kisses and said "bye mommy, have a good day".  I only cried a little,  maybe!  That sweet thing is so cute I can hardly stand it.  He has my whole heart.

And this big boy was a pro.  He walked with authority right in there and couldn't wait to see his teachers and get started.  I love his teachers and know he is going to be so prepared for Kindergarten next year.  Don't regret the decision to wait a year on kindergarten for a second.  This handsome fella is going to thrive in school and be as smart as his daddy.

Since it was a special day we decided to stop at Sweet Cece's for some ice cream after school.  They loved the sweet treat.

Clearly Ryan was excited about some chocolate ice cream with sprinkles.

Colton loved some vanilla with m&m's.

It was a great day and the boys had awesome days at school.  So thankful for a fantastic school and exciting year.

Getting Settled

We are slowly getting settled here.  There are only a few boxes left in the house.  Things are still not in their final place but we are slowly getting there.

Last week the boys had meet the teacher days at school.  They both loved meeting their new teachers and are excited for school to start soon.  I found their preschool through a recommendation of a friend who used to live here.  I think it's going to be a great school and really prepare Ryan for kindergarten next year.

I don't know anyone at the school but I was excited to meet some moms last week and start some new friendships.

Last week we also got our new washer and dryer delivered.  Moving and a week and a half without a washer and dryer was a little rough but we made it.  Let's hope we never have to do that again.

I switched to a top loader from a front loader and I am liking it a lot so far.  Its gets the job done and I'm looking forward to no more mild dew smell.

Of course we have made our way to Chick-Fil-A around here.  The boys were excited to go and I'm sure it's because it's familiar to them.  We missed our friends we always met there but praying we meet new friends soon.

This weekend we ventured out for a little celebration.  Matt has accepted a new job at LBMC here in Brentwood as a staff accountant.  WOOHOO!!! We are SOOOOOO proud of you sweetie and thrilled to death that God has provided yet again (should I really be surprised?) putting all the pieces together.

He starts his new job in a couple weeks.  It's been amazing to watch God orchestrate and put all these pieces together.  Honestly I look at life right now and think wow, we are so blessed and only GOD could make all this happen.

We tried out this new BBQ place called Judge Beans BBQ and it was awesome.  We all loved it and now Ryan is obsessed with BBQ sandwiches.  Love it.  After dinner Matt took us by his new office.  The company seems like a great fit for him and we are so excited about this new adventure.
