Just a Few Randoms

Yesterday I seriously think I had THE worst parenting experience leaving the gym. Ryan, aka Mr. Independent, wanted to open the heavy door at the gym. He got mad when I opened it and threw himself into a full on tantrum. I tried to calm him down, did time out in the hallway, you name it I tried it but he would not calm down. I ended up having to pick him up and carry him to the car all while he was kicking and SCREAMING!!!!

Sometimes I think he is trying to make me lose my mind. Motherhood truly is humbling!

Matt has been sick for the past few days. Usually he is the last to get sick but this time he was the first and hopefully only.

The other night he had a 102 fever and shivering from the chills. He took a sick day on Tuesday and went to the take care clinic at Walgreens. We were beginning to think he had the flu. They told him he has a viral infection and just keep taking ibuprofen and sinus meds.

He finally felt well enough to go back to work today. Poor guy has just been pitiful! Glad he is on the mend.

Ryan cracks me up with all the stuffed animals in his bed. I've mentioned before that he has to sleep holding pajamas. He probably has at least 10 pajama tops and bottoms in his bed. He loves his stuffed animals as well. Sometimes I wonder how he finds a spot to lay down.

Colton's six month photos

We had Colton's six months pictures taken by the ever so talented Amy from IntoWishin Photography. She has taken our pictures since Ryan was 9 months old. I love working with her and she always gets the best pictures.
Here are just a few of the pictures she took of Colton last month. I'm seriously going to have a hard time picking out my favorites.

Love love love this sweet boy!
Matt is sick sick sick and stayed home from work today. We went to Bible study as normal and Matt stayed in bed most of the day. I feel so bad for him. He's pretty miserable. He went to the take care clinic and they said he has a viral infection. Praying he feels better soon and that we don't get it.

Super Bowl Weekend

We had a fun and busy weekend! Saturday I made my weekly grocery trip then did some prep work for a freezer meal workshop I went to yesterday. So thankful Matt helped me because there was lots of stuff to slice and dice.

After church I headed to my freezer meal workshop and returned home with 10 meals to place in my freezer. I kept out 3 bags for dinner this week! Hope we like them. I know I'm looking forward to not having to cook some nights this week!
Last night we went to a friends house for a super bowl party. I didn't watch any of the game at the party, only the half time show, ha! I had a great time chatting with the ladies at the party and enjoying some great food.

We left after halftime and came home to put the boys to bed. We got them in bed just in time to watch the last 10 minutes of the game, the best part of the game. It was intense! I love the Manning family and I'm not a fan of Tom Brady or the Patriots so I was glad to see the Giants pull out a win. Way to go Eli, great game!

Mommy and Ryan Time

I'm blessed that I get to spend some good one on one time with Colton on Mondays when Ryan is at MDO. Today was Ryan's day to have some special mommy time.

I took Ryan to get his haircut this morning. He was waaaay over due. It was pretty much out of control. His hair is growing like crazy these days.

He did so good! He flipped out a little in the beginning but once I gave him a toy he was fine! I think he looks so handsome in his do.
After his haircut we went to grab lunch. Since it was "special mommy time" I let him have all the french fries he wanted and didn't push him to eat his chicken. Don't' worry, he didn't finish the whole tray of fries, ha.

It was a great day and I loved spending time with my sweet monkey boy.

Groundhog Day

No surprise that Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning. I won't mind at all having 6 more weeks of winter if that means we get 60 degree weather. We have taken two walks in the neighborhood this week. Hard to believe it's really February. It has been absolutely beautiful but everybody keeps saying that means we are going to get a blizzard in March, ha!

Ryan loves to be my helper. He has such a servants heart. I found this kid size broom and dust pan at buybuybaby and he has been obsessed with it ever sense I gave it to him.

For the last two days I've been feeding Colton a 8 oz bottle at lunch and a jar of fruit. He was acting hungry after finishing his bottle so I gave him some baby food. Guess this growing boy is ready for 3 solid meals a day (well baby food solid meals).

What's on your playlist?

I've been doing Weight Watchers online since I was pregnant with Colton. I started losing weight in the beginning of my pregnancy with him and ended up only gaining a total of 20 pounds the whole pregnancy. I think part of the reason was doing WW but the other was I was able to workout more with him than I was with Ryan.

After I had Ryan it took me almost exactly 9 months to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. I got back to pre pregnancy with Colton after about 4 months. Since then I have been at a plateau and can't seem to get over the hump. Like I said I've been doing WW online but after Christmas I really started getting serious about it and strict with counting my points. I'm very happy to say I've lost 5 pounds over the past 3 weeks. My goal is to lose 25 more. I'm confident with WW and working out I can achieve this goal by the end of summer.

I've been eating the WW smart one dinners for lunch and they are great because they are really good and tell you the point value. I usually do the gym 2 days a week and run on the treadmill 3 days a week. I think it might be from all the running in my friday No Limits Cardio class but I've been able to run 3 miles on the treadmill without dying... or walking. I'm excited my endurance is picking up. I love to watch tv while I run but also love some great workout tunes to keep me motivated. Here are some of my current workout tunes I'm loving:

Dynamite - Rokstarr
In My Head - Jason Derulo
Give Me Everything - Pitbull
Without You - David Guetta featuring Usher
Raise Your Glass - Pink
We Found Love - Rihanna
Tonight Tonight - Ho Chelle Rae
And for my cool down - Rhythm of Love - Plain White T's

So what's on your playlist????
I got Ryan this states puzzle for Christmas. I love geography! Even though it's for ages 5+ I thought he would enjoy it and eventually be able to put it together. We opened it a couple weeks ago and he loves it. At least once a day he brings it to me to help him put it together. Yesterday he brought it over while I was feeding Colton. He surprised me how he did the ENTIRE puzzle BY HIMSELF!!! I couldn't believe it. We are SO proud of him and he was pretty excited about it too!
