22 Weeks

I'm 22 weeks!

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 22 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby D is the size of a navel orange
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Loss of 6lbs
Maternity Clothes: I finally pulled out my maternity clothes from the basement last week. I wore maternity pants on Saturday for the first time. Still wearing all regular tops.
Gender: It's a boy!!!!! Still working on a name!
Movement: I've been feeling the baby a lot more lately!
Sleep: I'm sleeping pretty good!
What I miss: Nothing really
Cravings: Fruit
Symptoms: Mostly tiredness and some heartburn
Best Moment this week: Just feeling the baby more and more
My handsome little fella before church yesterday morning! He is such a cutie pie but he can turn on the terrible two's in a second. He is really starting to repeat what I say and understanding more of what we say to him. He doesn't always like when we tell him no which ensues a meltdown. Time out in the pack n' play is working well for us right now.

After being sick and on medicine he is finally eating well again! Last night Ryan ate pork chops and mac n' cheese for dinner. This was the first time he actually ate mac n' cheese. He loved it. What kid doesn't like man n' cheese.

Much Needed Makeover

Do you notice anything different???

Well I got a much overdue blog makeover! I found a blog designer I liked from Katie's Keeper. Erin over at Deisigner Blogs created this wonderful masterpiece. I absolutely LOVE the design and I know I will be using it for a very long time. I have to say that when Erin sent me a rough draft I loved every part of her design. I didn't want to change anything. They do great work and I highly recommend Designer Blogs! Thanks so much Erin for all your hard work on my blog! It looks awesome!!!

(Please excuse Ryan's wild bedhead! He had just woken up from his nap! He is seriously in need of a haircut!)
Today on Kelly's Korner she is showcasing things people make. I am not an artsy person and struggle just to draw a stick person but a few years ago I took Wilton's cake decorating classes and I loved every minute of it. I found that I'm pretty good at making cakes even though my artistic skills still struggle. I've made many cakes for friends birthdays, graduations and holidays.

Recently I have started making and selling decorated sugar cookies! I absolutely LOVE making cookies, almost as much as cakes. If you mess up on one cookie you have plenty others to make right, ha! They are so fun to make and I really enjoy making them for every occasion. You can visit my sweet treats blog at Summer's Sweet Treats!
Some of my favorite things people make are canvas paintings like this one below. I just saw this seller, Stacy on Kelly's Korner and I have already decided I want her to make something for Ryan's new room and Baby #2's nursery. I wish I had a talent to do this.

It's no secret that Ryan had HORRIBLE reflux and spit up when he was an infant. We went through TONS of bibs and burp clothes. He wore a bib 24/7 until he was 10 months old. I completely anticipate this little boy following in his big brother's footsteps and will most likely have the same reflux issues. I threw away most of Ryan's bibs and burp clothes because they were just gross and terribly stained. I wanted to start fresh with the next baby.

One of my big reasons for deciding on a name before this baby is born is so I can get things with his name on them. I absolutely LOVE personalized bibs and burp clothes! Here are just some adorable ones I found on Etsy. I plan to order lots of these for this little boy.

Are these not the cutest things ever? Hey, if you gotta wear a bib and always have a burp cloth on hand you might as well have a cute one!

Just a Few Things

This morning we had MOPS! It was wonderful to see my sweet friends and have a moment to chat and catch up. Our speaker today was a sweet woman named Heather who has 14 children, 3 biological and 11 who are adopted all with special needs. It was inspiring to hear her talk about God's calling on her life. She and her husband are so trusting and feel God has called them to care for children that no one wants. I teared up so many times thinking about how I think it's hard raising an almost two year old and here she is raising kids with mental illness, some are handicapped and three are on feeding tubes. She and her husband Rick are so selfless and such an inspiration about trusting the Lord!
I got this adorable outfit in the mail yesterday! It's baby Deepe #2's first outfit. Since both boys are/will be born in the summer all of Ryan's clothes will pass down to baby #2. Matt is very happy about how much money we will save, ha. I want baby #2 to have some things that are just his.

We really need to decide on a name for baby #2 because I hate calling him baby #2! I have a name that I really like but Matt says he is on the fence about it. I keep calling the baby by the name hoping that Matt will get used to it and like it. Hope we can officially decide soon. I'm dying to get something with his name on it. I didn't have alot of stuff with Ryan's name on it since we were surprised with him.
And I made these cookies last week for a friend's, daughter's birthday. She had a princess party and these were the favors. I loved how they turned out!

Lastly I'm so excited for my friend Anissa and her husband Richard who welcomed their sweet baby boy Quinn, into the world this morning. Ryan's sweet friend Elizabeth is a Big Sister!!! So excited for them!!!! I cannot wait to meet him!!!

Wednesday

I was happy to get back into our routine today after being out of town in Memphis. I love a routine and schedule so it throws me off when we aren't on our regular schedule.

This morning I was so excited to go to my cardio resistance class at the gym. It's such a good workout and really pushes me. After eating bad and not working out much while out of town I really needed a good workout.

Ryan and I swung by the grocery store after the gym. He did awesome and hardly anyone was there except for some senior citizens. Maybe I should move my grocery day from Sunday to Monday, ha! Sunday is always SO crowded but it's so much easier shopping without Ryan.

I made taco salad for dinner tonight and Ryan ate SOOOO good. I was holding him and getting his plate ready when he let me feed him peaches off the spoon. He has NEVER done that before so I just stood there shoveling peaches in as long as he would let me. He ate some yummy tomatoes, beans and his favorite, cheese. He loves cheese just like his daddy! He ate better today than he has since he got sick a few weeks ago, praise the Lord!!! I couldn't stop telling him how proud of I was of him!

Good Visit

We have had a great last few days visiting my family in Memphis. Sunday my parents and I took Ryan to the park since it was absolutely beautiful! Matt said it was chilly and cloudy at home but we enjoyed the sunshine and 75 degree weather! It was crazy seeing people in shorts in February! Oh how I miss the south!

Ryan had the best time running around and playing on the playground. We even walked about the lake. We also got to fill up on BBQ and Catfish, two of my favorite foods, while we were in Memphis!

Ryan loved all the special attention and love from his grandparents. They got to hear him say more words. He loves to tell my brothers dog, Shelby, to sit. He walks around saying "sit" over and over. The other night in the car he was trying to repeat every word I was saying. Baby, apple and dog are just a few of the words he was saying. I can definitely tell his vocabulary is getting better.
It was such a great visit and we are so thankful to have a loving family that loves Ryan to pieces.

A Great Day

We had such a great day today! Ryan is like a new kid the past couple days. He has been so happy and in such a great mood. I am so glad he is feeling better! Today the temps were in the 60's so we took advantage and went to the park this morning! It was a little windy but so nice to get some fresh air. The last time we were at this park was last fall and Ryan was barely walking! Hard to believe today he was climbing up and sliding all by himself.

We met Elizabeth and Anissa at the park. I think Elizabeth has this little crush on Ryan! Whenever Anissa says they are going to see Ryan she says his name over and over. Anissa told me the last time they were at our house she was talking about Ryan the whole next day! So cute!!! We went to lunch at McAlister's with them. It was yummy and the kids were great!
The sun came out this afternoon so we took a walk after Ryan's nap. He had the best time seeing the ducks and geese in our neighborhood pond. Whenever we drive by the pond Ryan always waves to them. I pulled Ryan in the wagon the first part of our walk then he decided he wanted to walk the rest of the way home. I couldn't believe he walked all the home and helped me push the wagon. I can't believe how big he is getting!

It was such a great day! I'm really looking forward to more park days this spring!

Little of this and little of that

Yesterday I took Ryan to the doctor since his cold wasn't clearing up and his ears were draining! The doctor confirmed that he has a sinus infection. Since the ear drop antibiotics weren't taking care of his infection the doctor put him on an oral antibiotic. After being on the antibiotic for 24 hours he is already feeling better. He was so happy today and I'm so thankful!
Today I had a doctors appointment to check on Baby D. Everything was really good and he had a strong heartbeat of 160. Matt took Ryan to lunch so I could go to my appointment. Matt said he was SO good. I think they had a great time together! I'm glad that they had a little father/son time while I was at the doctor.

And these are the valentine's cookies I made this weekend. They were so cute and fun! I took them to our MOPS get together on Monday. I think the Be Mine cookie is my favorite!

I'm really looking forward to getting some fresh air tomorrow! It's suppose to be close to 70 degrees out. I can't believe it's already time to get out Ryan's spring clothes! Yay! I'm hoping that we have seen the last of the snow for this year! I would LOVE an early spring!

20 Months Old

Ryan - You are 20 Months Old!!!

What have you been up to this month???

(Kinda neat that Ryan is 20 months and I am 20 weeks pregnant)
I cannot believe that you will be 2 in just a few short months!

You wear size 24 months.
You wear size 6 shoes.
You weigh 26 pounds.

You still don't say many words but I think you try to repeat what we say to you, it's just not very clear, ha! You speak mostly Japanese, ha, that's what we call it when we have no clue what you are saying.

You love watching Wheel of Fortune at night and love to yell at the tv. You think it's so funny when daddy yells and solves the puzzle.

You are sooooo busy!!! You run around the house in constant motion. You don't stay still very long. You are constantly into drawers, cabinets, and anything else I'd rather you not be in. You keep me very busy.

You love to climb on things. You are not much of a dare devil just yet.

You are still a picky eater. You eat cheerios and yogurt for breakfast but I never know if you will eat a good lunch or dinner. Sometimes you eat very well and other times you won't eat anything we give you! But your favorite food besides chicken is peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!

You are so funny! You crack us up by the things you do and say every day.

You love music! Whenever the "hotdog song" on Mickey Mouse comes on you run in the room and start dancing and clapping to the song. Recently you have started stomping one foot when you "dance" to the music! We have no idea where you got it from but it's hilarious!

You are SO headstrong and strong willed. We are in a constant battle of wills. I pray that God will use this in your life to be a strong leader. Sometimes I think you get frustrated that you can't communicate to us what you want.

You like to point to my stomach when I ask you where is your baby brother. Sometimes though you will point to your own belly, ha!

Your little smile just lights up the room and our hearts! You have been the light of our life for the last 20 months. Your daddy and I love you SO very much!

This was you one year ago exactly in the same chair and similar outfit, ha! You look so itty bitty. I could just cry looking at this picture because I miss that tiny boy. The age you are now is a HARD one but I'm trying to treasure it because I know 5 years from now - I will want to go back and scoop up that toddler in these pictures and kiss your sweet face!

20 Weeks and Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I'm 20 weeks! (Half way there!!!)

Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 20 Weeks
Size of baby: Baby D is the size of an banana
Total Weight Gain/Loss: Loss of 6 lbs
Maternity Clothes: Still in regular, no maternity yet!
Gender: It's a BOY!!! Still working on a name!
Movement: I've been feeling the baby a lot more lately!
Sleep: I was sleeping really great until I got sick last week. My cough and runny nose keep me up. I took benadryl over the weekend and slept much better.
What I miss: Nothing really - maybe just caffeine?
Cravings: Fruit
Symptons: Right now just tiredness, and a little bit of heartburn!
Best Moment this week: Just feeling the baby more and more!

Last night Matt took me to The Melting Pot for our Valentine's Date! My sweet in-laws watched Ryan for us so we could enjoy a nice dinner out. We usually only go to The Melting Pot to celebrate our anniversary (we've been 3 out of 4 years) but Matt was making the V-day plans so that's where we went. It was so yummy and I can still taste the amazing chocolate fondue!
We had agreed that we would not buy each other gifts this year! Of course we did cards but our gift was our dinner out. We picked up Ryan and came home from the in-laws and I went upstairs to put him to bed. When I came back down there was a present on the table. I looked at Matt shocked since we weren't doing gifts. I opened it and it was a Kindle! I have been talking about getting one. I hear so many people on blogs so how much they love it and how they read more now with their Kindle than they ever have before! I am so excited!!! I hope my new Kindle gives me the opportunity to read more books!

Our weekend!

The weekend was pretty low key since Ryan and I are both still sick and not feeling great! Ryan's ear has started to drain (even though he has tubes). His sinus infection has traveled to his ears and we have to use $60 antibiotic ear drops. And let me tell you how fun that is trying to put drops in his ears twice a day. I am SO ready for him to start feeling better really soon! Poor little guy just breaks my heart! Thank goodness he is back to sleeping great again!

Look at those curls! Looks like someone is going to get a haircut soon! It has grown so fast in just the last few months!
Apparently Ryan and I are sharing germs because I have gotten his sinus infection. I have major congestion and a nasty cough. I'm positive we practically own half of puffs with the way I'm going through tissues. I am so tired of blowing my nose and want to feel back to normal soon!
I'm really looking forward to some warmer, well at least not freezing, temps this week. Hopefully we can take some walks outside! Oh how I have spring fever!!!

Aquarium and Girls Night Out

I must start off by saying I love this picture of Ryan! Of course I love every picture Ryan but there is something about this one that he seems so grown up and such a little boy.

This morning we went to the aquarium. We haven't been in a long time and since we were inside all yesterday I thought today would be a great day to get out. Of course I picked the day when there were a bunch of middle school kids visiting. Nonetheless we had a good time and Ryan loved looking at all the fish and sea life.
He loved beating on the drums. He started off in the stroller but quickly wanted to see everything so I got him out and he loved the freedom. He did well staying right with me and holding my hand.
He is still not completely feeling 100% and has a little runny nose and a yucky cough. He hasn't been sleeping well at night and during naps the last few days. Ryan has always been a good sleeper but right now he is still a little congested and his cough keeps him from getting some much needed rest!!! (I am praying our new little boy will be a good sleeper like his big brother).

I didn't workout during naptime today like I usually do but it was a productive afternoon: laundry, dishes, vacuumed and worked on Ryan's 2 year photo book! Yay for a productive day! Tonight we had girls night out with my MOPS group. It was so fun and so nice to get out with my girlfriends. Since Ryan has been sick the last few days and not sleepy well (which has left us both fussy) it was the perfect night to get out and chill with my girlfriends.
