Thursday

We are thoroughly enjoying spending time with Matt this week since he is off work. We've been busy running errands and just relaxing at home playing with Ryan. As you saw he absolutely LOVES his new slide. We are spending lots more time in our basement.

Yesterday morning we went to my CRT class at the gym. I told Matt he was shadowing me for a day, ha! He got to see how we spend most of our mondays and wednesdays.

Today we headed to the Children's Museum. It was Matt's first time to go. I thought there would be lots of kids but I had no idea it would be PACKED! Thankfully, we got there early so it wasn't completely insane. By the time we left at 12:30 it was pretty crazy. I guess all the parents needed to get out of the house since the kids are off school and it's freezing outside.

Ryan had a blast playing in the ball pit. I think his favorite thing were "just his size" street signs (stop sign, yield sign, railroad crossing etc). He enjoyed picking them up and moving them for at least 15 min.

I packed a lunch for us to eat there then we headed home around 12:30. He had so much fun playing and he was one tired pup by the time we got home. We must have really wore him out because he slept from 1-5pm. It was definitely a great day had by all

Details

So I thought I would follow up today with some details about us expecting baby Deepe #2!

First of all, I must say that this little baby was a surprise. I know, I know, you already have a child... you know how this works. Well, even though we got pregnant with Ryan quickly, we had planned to wait a few more months before trying for #2 but God had other plans. Funny how I'm such a type A person and want to have everything planned out but God laughs and changes those plans. I love that about God. It shows me I need to trust Him and that He is in complete control.

On October 25 I took an old expired test I had laying around thinking there is no way I'm pregnant. Sure enough it came up positive. I bought a new test at the store that night and took it the next morning. When it came up positive Matt and I just immediately smiled. We were shocked. We could not be more excited.

We told our families with the big brother shirt. I got the shirt a few days after we found out. I am due July 1. I'm just over 13 weeks right now. We went to the doctor last week and heard the baby's heartbeat for the first time (163 bpm).

We are going to find out the sex this time around. We should find out around the first of February. Our families and friends are all rooting for a girl! Matt would love to have his daddy's girl. I would love to have a sweet little girl but would love to have a little brother for Ryan. We honestly don't care, we are just praying for a healthy baby.

I have been feeling great. My body reacts so well to pregnancy and I honestly don't even feel pregnant. No sickness, no nausea, no exhaustion and my clothes are still fitting well. I'm still working out 5 days a week and just trying to make healthy eating choices. I had a great pregnancy with Ryan so I'm praying for another good and smooth pregnancy this go around.

We are beyond excited and I really can't wait to find out what we are having. Now that I'm 13 weeks it's definitely feeling more real.

We are SO thankful for this baby and I am so happy to be able to share it.

Christmas Recap 2010

We had a wonderful Christmas at the Deepe house! Ryan got thoroughly spoiled with gifts and we feasted on many goodies.
Christmas Eve we needed to go pick up the ham and pick up pizza for dinner after the Christmas Eve service at church. My parents graciously offered to watch Ryan so Matt and I could run our errands and have a nice lunch date at PF Changs. We were so appreciative!!!
Ryan was all dressed for the Christmas Eve service at church. He looked so adorable and so grown up. I could just eat him up!

After the church and dinner we decided to open a few gifts under the tree.
Ryan with Uncle Matt! Ryan loves his monkeys!

Ryan loved playing with all his new toys. He has more toys now than he truly knows what to do with. Santa brought Ryan a slide to go in the basement. I will have to share a picture soon. He absolutely LOVES his slide. Way to go Santa!

Santa also brought Ryan a mower, some books and some stocking stuffers. He loves the mowers and has been pushing it around the house for the last two days.

We had a delicious lunch with honey baked ham, pioneer woman mashed potatoes, green beans, pinto beans, green peas, corn, fruit salad and rolls. It was sooo yummy!
I made some cookies for Christmas lunch.

We had a great afternoon/evening of eating lunch and opening gifts.
Ryan loved playing with all his new toys with Grandpa and Grandma.

Almost Christmas time

Only a few more days til Christmas!!!! My parents and brother arrived from Memphis last night. We are so excited to have them here for Christmas. This morning we were blessed with Ryan sleeping til 9:00! Woohoo! That doesn't happen much so when it does I take complete advantage of it. Ryan was so sweet this morning. He watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with my dad and I and read his books.
We had a pretty low key relaxing day! We went to Mimi's Cafe for lunch. Ryan did ok until our food came. Then he told us, in not so many words, that he was done and ready to go. Ryan loves to throw anything and everything on the floor right now. He will throw it down, then want it back just to throw it down again. I'm trying my best to keep my cool and punish him and tell him we don't throw things but sometimes I think I might lose my mind. I sure hope this "phase" doesn't last much longer.

Our little cookie monster!
I'm looking forward to a fun Christmas Eve day tomorrow.

Here Comes Santa Claus

Today we took Ryan to see Santa! He wasn't exactly excited to see Santa, ha!

Oh my how we will laugh at this picture for years to come! Hopefully next year will go better!

I totally expected a meltdown! I think everyone has a picture like this that their parents just treasure. Ryan is a total momma's boy so I knew trying to get him to sit a strange man's lap, dressed in a red suit with a white beard, was so not going to go well. But at least we have the memories! Matt got a video of it too.

Merry Christmas from the Deepe's

One of my favorite things about this time of year is checking the mailbox daily to open Christmas cards from our friends and family.

I absolutely LOVE our Christmas card this year. I had been looking all over for just the right card but was having trouble finding one I really liked. My friend Jennifer posted a pic of a card design one night and I loved it so I decided to click on the blog it came from. It was her sister Lauren's website (which can be found here at www.laurenchowdesigns.blogspot.com). I fell in love with about 8 cards so I knew I wanted her to design our Christmas cards.

Here is the card we chose!

And here is the back!

I love that people, mainly family, could frame this adorable picture of Ryan.

Our Weekend

We've had a great weekend! We started out on Friday night having our small group Christmas party. We enjoyed some yummy soups, salads, bread and desserts. I made Paula Deen's Eclair Cake and it was to die for. Everyone loved it!
This is my friend Tammy and her 4 month old son Tyler.
Roland and Caleb hanging out.
After dinner we played a rousing game of Taboo. We laughed so hard we were crying. I love this time of year and all the fun get togethers.
I finished up my Christmas shopping yesterday! I've wrapped just about everything. I can't believe it's the week of Christmas!!! My plan this week is to clean the house and make cookies. We went to a neighborhood Christmas party tonight and I, of course, took cookies, ha! I'm excited about making cookies this week to give away to friends!

Eighteen Months

Ryan - You are EIGHTEEN months!
You are a year and a half old!!

What have you been up to this month???
You weigh 26 lbs. You wear size 4 diapers, size 18-24 months clothes and size 5 shoe.

You have 16 teeth now. All of your baby teeth are in now!

You still take a good 3 hour nap in the afternoon.

You sleep from 7:30pm to 8/8:30am. We are so thankful you are such a good sleeper!

You love playing with blocks and building things. You interact more with your toys now. You love toys where you put the shape in right place. You get better every day.

You love to give hugs and blow kisses. I can be talking on the phone and start to get off the phone and you will start to wave.

You love to run from me when I need to put your coat or shoes on. I've started giving you time warnings before we leave the house or before naptime. Hoping transition times get easier on you and me.

Your vocabulary is slowly growing. I think you are really shy because you hardly ever say things on command. You do say momma, dadda, hi, baby, dog, woof and the other day you tried to say Jesus. I'm trying to teach you please and thank you. Sometimes you mumble what sounds like please. You have learned to communicate pretty well without words.

We have only tried time-out a time or two but learned that you just need a spankin when you are being disobedient.

You love to dance when you hear music on the tv. You clap to music in the car. Your favorite show is Wheel of Fortune. We usually are ready to put you to bed early but you act so well during WOF we don't mind you staying up later.

You love to point out your body parts - ears, head, mouth, teeth, nose.

You are still a momma's boy. Even though you are heavy to hold and momma wants a break I love when you snuggle and sit in my lap.

You love to try to feed yourself with a spoon or fork. It's still a work in progress but you are getting better.

I can't believe we are halfway to two. Where has the time gone? I swear you were just born last week. You are our sweet monkey boy and we love you so very much!

Sickies again

Yesterday morning Ryan woke up with yucky green gunk almost covering his right eye. I grabbed a warm wet rag and wiped his eye but I could tell he didn't feel well. Thankfully we got in quickly to see the dr. and he said Ryan has a sinus infection that has gone to his eye. It's very common in kids who get lots of ear infections. Instead of it going to his ears it went to his eye. Poor baby is back on antibiotics but I can already tell he is feeling better today.

Ryan "talking" on the phone! As least now when he picks up my phone or the remote he brings it to me because he knows he isn't supposed to have it, ha!

I caught this sweet moment between a boy and his dog!

Annabelle will sit there forever and just let Ryan pet and play with her!

Maybe Ryan will be a dentist one day??? He is getting a good look at those chompers, hahaha!

Ryan brought me his Bible today to read. He was trying so hard to say Jesus. So sweet!!!

And most people tell me what a happy boy Ryan is and he always has a smile on his face. Well he is very happy 95% of the time but there are occasions when he is not so happy! (He was mad I took the phone away from him after he threw it)

December Snow Storm

Yesterday we got 3-4 inches of snow here. It snowed just about all day so we stayed inside most of the day. Today I decided we should venture out and try to get some cute pics in the snow. Oh my was it sooooo cold. Bone chilling cold!!! We lasted only about 5 minutes, ha! I did however get these cute pics of Ryan "playing" in the snow!
He didn't really know what to think of the snow!

This was taken yesterday afternoon looking out our back door. Crazy how much snow we've gotten and so early in the season. I'm really worried it's going to be a loooong winter, ugh!

This is looking down the street from our garage!

And I had to share these cutie cookies I made for my friend Laura. Her daughter turned 3 last week and she wanted some cookies to take to school. I put them in cellophane bags with cute birthday ribbon. They were so fun to make!

Today we got our Christmas cards so I am sitting here addressing cards and hoping to get them out in the next day or so. I am totally in love with them! They are SOOOO cute and I can't wait to show you!
