Wo nelly...look at my belly!

36.3 weeks pregnant

37 weeks...full term

I'm 37 weeks pregnant today!  I had my 36 week check-up on Tuesday and my blood pressure was high when the nurse checked it.  It was 140/100.  She then had me lay on my side and take it again.  It was much better that time and it was 140/80.  My doctor was a little concerned and asked me to come back in on Thursday to have it rechecked.  I've had some swelling but the good news was that there was no protein in my urine.  She put me on best rest until I came back in!  The best news I got was that I'm 1 cm dilated!  WOOHOO!!! I was so excited!  I think it's a great start and hoping and praying I will progress quickly!

So I had my appointment this morning to get my bp checked again and it was 140/86.  Good but still a little high.  The nurse had me lay on my side and check it again after a few minutes.  It came all the way down to 124/76!  Yay!  She then had me do a urine sample she found a little bit of protein in my urine so she was going to have the doctor come talk to me!  My doctor was out of the office today so I saw a different doc.  This is were Matt cracked me up!  He got so excited and thought we were for sure having a baby today! ha!  I kept laughing at him and told him we can't jump to conclusions!  We are ready at home but I have not packed my bags yet!  Definitely will be getting on that pronto!!!

Well the doctor said she was not concerned about my pb or the little protein in my urine but wants to be cautious.  So I have to collect my urine for the next 24 hours and then have some blood work.  Very glad she didn't put me on best rest but I will definitely be taking it easy!  I am so excited to meet this baby.  It's hard to believe I am full term today and could literally go any day now!  I'm praying he/she decides to come early but would like one more week!

We took a 36 week picture on Sunday but I can't seem to find it on the camera!  I'll post it when I find it, ha!  Please keep us in your prayers as we prepare physically and mentally for the arrival of baby Deepe!  Pray I continue to get lots of sleep (too bad I can't stock pile it, ha) and feeling good!

36 weeks

Tomorrow I will be 36 weeks pregnant!  Can you believe only 4 more weeks to go?  I'm so excited to meet this little baby and start this new chapter in our lives!  I can't wait!!!  I still don't feel completely uncomfortable yet!  I am however moving slower and slower every day!  I'm still working out about 4 days a week!  Doing the elliptical, walking or water aerobics!

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous this week so I took Annabelle and Gracie on walks both Monday and Tuesday!  They loved it and were conked out the rest of the afternoon! ha

Monday I had my 35 week doctors appointment and it went well!  I got the strep B swab and will get the results next week!  I also had my first pelvic exam and my doc told me "you aren't really dilated yet"!  Ok, in my world that means that I'm beginning to dilate but no real progress yet! ha  It would be early to be dilated at all at this point anyway!   And I only gained 1 lb this week, woohoo!  She said my blood pressure looks good, my weight looks good and I'm measuring right on schedule!

35.3 weeks

I'm looking forward to a 3 day holiday weekend with Matt!  No plans yet but the outdoor pool at our gym opens this weekend so I know we will be there at least one day over the weekend!  I can't wait to get some much needed sun!

Erin's Bridal Shower

Saturday I co-hosted a bridal shower for my sister-in-law, Erin, who is getting married June 20 (yes, 2 days after my due date)!  We are hoping and praying baby Deepe is either early or late so that we can attend the wedding!  It's here locally so thank goodness we don't have to travel anywhere!

I wanted to make her cake for the shower and I was very pleased at how it came out!  I did it in stages so it didn't feel like it took me as long!  Erin loves Tiffany's jewelry and I knew she would love a Tiffany's box cake!

The cake was french vanilla with buttercream icing!

35 weeks...35 days

Well we've made it to 35 weeks!  I can't believe it!  Only 35 days to go til my due date!  YIKES!!!

It's still hard to believe that there is this little baby inside me that is going to come out soon!  We had our childbirth class all day on Saturday and got a tour of the birthing center.  The childbirth class was good and informative.  My favorite part was at the end when we got to take a tour of the birthing center.  The labor and delivery rooms are spacious and homey-like.  They have a new postpartum wing they just finished remodeling and boy is it nice!  It's hard to believe that in just over a month we will be delivering and having our baby there!
I'm still sleeping well (knock on wood)!  I feel tired a lot so I'm glad I can still sleep.  Still lots of pressure down low.  My next doc. appointment is Monday afternoon.  We will find out then if the baby is head down and if we have any progress!
Technically I'm 34.3 weeks preggers in this pic!

Play Ball

Friday Matt scored some Cincinnati Reds tickets from his boss!  We jumped at the chance to go to a game AND enjoy all the food we could eat!  The tickets were in the champions club which not only includes awesome seats but loads of food, all paid for!  They had hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, pasta, pizza, montgomery inn bbq, grilled cheese paninis, nachos, ice cream sandwiches and of course peanuts!  Matt ate himself sick and I ate my fair share of the goodies!  We had a blast!  And the Reds won over the Cardinals!  Go Reds!

Matt was beside himself getting to eat and sit in the champions club!
This is what we saw when we got up to the champions club
(except the tables and chairs were full of people)!
All the food we could stomach!
What a dream for a 34 week pregger woman and her always hungry hubby!
Mr. Red Legs
We had awesome seats!
Batter up!

Happy Mother's Day

Special shout out to my wonderful Momma!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY MOM!

These are the beautiful tulips my parents sent me on Friday for Mother's day!  Isn't that the sweetest?  Thanks Mom and Dad!  I don't feel like a mother yet but I know it's just around the corner!  I can't wait!

Sweet Potato Fries

The other night I tried a new side dish!  I've heard that sweet potato fries are very yummy and nutritious so I thought I would make some!  Well, the rumors are true, they are soooooo yummy!  I like sweet potatoes but I don't eat them very often but I loved these!!!  And Matt loved them too!  This will definitely be something we will make more often!

Here's the recipe:

1 -1 1/2 lb sweet potatoes
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cinnamon

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.  Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.

Peal sweet potatoes.  Cut into strips about 1/2 inch wide on each side.

Place the sweet potatoes into a sealed ziploc bag.  Add oil, salt, paprika, cinnamon.  Seal the bag and shake well to thoroughly coat the fries.  Spread the potatoes out onto the baking sheet in a single layer.

Cook for 30 minutes.  Transfer immediately to a paper towel lined plate and serve warm.

33 weeks and a broken toe

Today I had my 33 week doctors appointment!  It went well and pretty much uneventful!  Blood pressure was ideal (120/80) and the doc said I'm measuring right on schedule!  She asked me if I've had an contractions and I said "uhm, I don't think so" ha!

This Saturday is our all day childbirth class!  I'm so excited and can't wait!  Matt is a little worried about the gruesomeness of the class but I think it will be great we will learn a lot!

I'm still sleeping well (knock on wood) and not uncomfortable yet!  My biggest complaint is the heartburn!  I'm totally convinced this baby is going to have a huge full head of hair with all the heartburn I have!  Last night I was fine after dinner until we went to bed!  This little bottle down below has become my best friend!  I personally like the powder ones that you just pour on your tongue and it dissolves!  So cool, wish I had invented that! ha
**WARNING**
Gruesome pics to follow!!!

So Matt was working out with his bf on Saturday.  They were punching and kicking a boxing bag and my lovely, brown belted martial artist husband kicked the bag and jammed his toe!  It was not pretty, as you can see, ha!  He came home limping and in pain!  This is his toe on Monday night!  It looks tons better than it did Saturday night!  He went to the doc on Monday, got an xray and sure enough...it is broken!!  Not much you can do for a broken toe.  He got a small boot and some pain pills.  He's doing better and says he's not in pain.  But no running for 4 weeks!  yikes!
